Firstly COVID precautions were fantastic and many times my boyfriend and I agreed that we felt safer here than in many restaurants/bars and shops in England When we arrived our temperatures were taken, our suitcases sanitised and we were given a pack with gloves, reusable mask and hand sanitiser gel. In this pack was also our room key already sanitised for us. Masks are work all round the indoor buildings and when walking around restaurants and buffet but beside the pool and when eating/drinking we could take it off When entering the buffet for every meal time our temperature is taken and then we were taken to our table. The tables were all very well placed apart with more than 2m between in most areas. Drinks are being served at the table For the food, gloves and masks have to be worn when serving our selves. The hot dishes are kept fresh with replacements being seen frequently the entire time. Also the serving spoons are replaced every 20 mins which again I saw happening frequently. The cold foods such as salads, olives and tzatziki were kept on already portioned plates so that you don’t have to worry about serving from one big bowl. The portions were generous and very well presented All staff wore masks and gloves throughout the hotel. There was also plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the hotel, I had brought quite a few bottles with us but we hardly had to use them due to this Moving on, the room we stayed was perfect. We had the Deluxe Double with Private Pool. We decided to splash out with the room for our first holiday together and we were not disappointed. The pool was clean and well kept, the perfect size to be able to swim and relax in. We had plenty of outdoor furniture with sun loungers and umbrella; a chair swing (which was perfect to read a book from in the evenings) and a table and chairs. Even though the room we had was in the middle of the three similar rooms we felt like we had enough privacy and was not bothered by any noise from either side. This is also due to having great neighbours for our stay but was still so important to us. The private pool rooms face and just a small grassy area from the sea front and beach access. Plus the room is right in the middle between two bars. At night only one of the bars has occasional entertainment but they were never a bother and we were listening to the music whenever it was there. Beach towels and flip flops were also provided The room inside was a great size with a sofa area to relax in. The bed must have been bigger than a double and was super comfy. A big plus is having a thin duvet instead of just a sheet which has been the case in most holidays I’ve been on over the years. The bathroom was fab with a jacuzzi bathtub and shower. The rainfall shower was lovely with adequate pressure and the hot water came quickly when turning on Cleaning staff and refilling of our mini bar was on alternate days. But if we had any issue they would have come earlier. The food itself was fantastic, excellent choice and quality. There was always different choices everyday and a wide variety. However if you’re picky with what you eat that was covered too. Pasta was provided everyday which didn’t change, pizza with different toppings daily too. The pizza was handmade and not like a take away pizza and there was a soup of the day option too Traditional Greek food was provided from meats, fish and vegetables and was not greasy. All tasted fresh and was great. There is also plenty of food suitable for vegetarians which didn’t affect us but is something I am always aware of as my mum is vegetarian. On my birthday my boyfriend arranged a surprise dinner in the Gourmet Wine Cellar restaurant, we had the place to ourselves and were served a beautiful 4 course meal. The cellar itself is amazing and we were allowed a chance to go around and look at all the wine between courses. The waiter was attentive but also did not overstay and gave us privacy whilst always making sure our drinks were topped up which is a great skill to have! That dinner was a wonderful evening so if you’re celebrating anything whilst you are staying here arrange this because it’s so worth it and is super romantic The local area is nice to go and see, it’s a town and not a city so there isn’t lots to do but there are plenty of restaurants to try out, a few touristy shops, cafe and a supermarket which we explored one day. Overall this was a perfect holiday and once life settles and our new normal is found we will definitely be booking again- with the same room. It was the much needed break from working for the NHS TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Perfect holidays in Covid-times
Oct 19th, 2020
We had a our late-summer holidays in the Kalliston Resort. The complete staff did a wonderful job to make our holiday are comfortable as possible. Even at the end of, I assume, this difficult Covid-season, all of them kept on smiling and doing their best. The highlight of our trip was a dinner in the wine cellar of the hotel. Due to Covid we had the complete cellar for the two of us. (as one of the last guests of this season) The perfect setting, delicious food and the private butler/sommelier Nixos made it a night we will never forget. Also Nixos suggestion to visit a nearby vineyard was bullseye. All perfect day, lunch and wine tasting, arranged by the hotel (thank you Sophia!). The marvelous view in the sea-front hotel room made our holidays complete. (Tip: I wouldn't wait too long to refresh the interior of the rooms, before they become outdated). We don't go often back to the same hotel, but in this case we might make an exception. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Highly recommend this hotel

We really enjoyed our vacation in the Kalliston hotel! Our room was beautiful, super clean and we had a breathtaking view. The way they handle the corona restrictions is professional and serene. Absolutely safe environment to enjoy a nice vacation during this pandemic. But most importantly what impressed us the most was how nice and friendly the employees are. Everyone was happy to help. We felt very welcomed! The Atlantica hotels are high on our list for future travels! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My wife and I have just returned from a week of glorious, luxurious relaxation at my favourite hotel in the world, the Kalliston. We almost didn’t go, what with Covid. But we read up on the measures that the Greek government and indeed the Kalliston themselves had implemented, and felt secure that we would feel safe. We needn’t have worried. On our arrival to the Kalliston, Our luggage was disinfected and our temperatures were taken with a handheld scanner. The ice cold towel and complimentary glass of champagne were a welcome relief after a long journey. The upgrade to an executive suite was too. The member of staff showed us to our room and explain the new measures the hotel had implemented because of Covid. A mask and gloves supplied by the hotel were mandatory in the restaurant and everyone had to have the temperature taken by a scanner before entering. All members of staff wore a mask at all times indoors and out. I felt safer at the Kalliston than I do in a supermarket in England. The hotel is every bit as luxurious as we remembered. The food fantastic and oh so plentiful. We even went on an Italian cookery course and winetasting course whilst we were there. The pool was just as we remembered, The sea just as clear and warm. The staff are more like friends now, due to the fact that this was our fifth stay here. It truly is wonderful to see the same staff year after year: Elena, Irini, Maria and the manager Dimitrios were so attentive and friendly, as was the new beach barman Thomas (and indeed all of the staff). This holiday was just what we needed after an awful year (My wife being a frontline key worker). The TUI reps Tjorven and Jed did a fantastic job getting everyone to partake in the daily activities. We loved the daily quiz at the swim up bar. We have such happy memories of the Kalliston, this truly is a magical place by exceptionally talented staff that we count as friends. Next years stay is already booked. Go to the Kalliston, it will be one of the best holidays you ever have. I guarantee it TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Holiday during Coronavirus
Sep 17th, 2020
Had two holidays cancelled, so we booked the Kalliston a month ago. Had a good flight and a minibus to the hotel. When we arrived there was no one to help us with the suit cases up the stairs from the bus to reception ,met with a cold drink and a cold towel and was given a room 318. We paid for a sea view and a balcony, when we pulled the curtains back we had a terrace for the main bar straight in front of us, so anyone having a drink can see straight into our room.. We returned to reception to say we were not happy with the room ,we were asked by Maria what was a matter which we told her ,she said we had a sea view what we paid for and no one has complained before, may be we could see the sea over the top of people’s heads having a drink and no privacy, she find anther room which was good, but her attitude upset us not a good start. The hotel was spotless clean and the Coronavirus methods was no problem. I must say all the staff were happy and friendly Sophia Dario and all the reps from tui they worked so hard,I am sure GED must have had a twin brother. The hotel was at the end of a town where there wasn’t much to do, the beach was fine . Food, Breakfast good ,Greek restaurant brilliant ,but the buffet really was a let down not much variety, but the worst thing was the food was not hot,and we were told it was a problem that the English complain about ,all we wanted was hot food. The f&b manager( I think his name is Gonnis) was good and arranged for us to have a meal a the Greek restaurant. We never went back to the buffet, we ate out a some of the local restaurants. Took a trip to Chania one evening ,it’s a must ,harbour and shops and had a meal on the waterfront. To sum up we had a good holiday ,but a few things let it down for us, that’s why we can only give 4 out of 5 Ps we had a inform reception twice about a power cable going across the stairs between the bar terrace an the iron stairs leading down to our room 211,if someone had tripped on the cable they would have a bad injury, it was so dangerous after our second complaint they re rooted the cable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
