We stayed for 3 nights in this renovated old monastery and could not have selected a better place. Just off the Charles bridge and close to the Castle , the position for visiting Prague is ideal. We do everything by local transport and What do you want from a hotel? Good service Polite reception Knowledgeable concierge Good breakfast Good location Easy access to transportation Good spa Quite and spacious room Good value You have it all here. So why bother to go to another place TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel for seeing Prauge

Jan 7th, 2020

We stayed at the Augustine Hotel for a couple nights and had an excellent stay after we changed rooms (see below). The location of the hotel is great and is very easy to walk to the Old town square, Charles bridge, Prague castle, and many Christmas markets. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and had great charm as a former monastery. Originally our room was near the front of the hotel where there are some train tracks. Unfortunately, trams would run by the hotel every few minutes causing a lot of noise and rumbling and driving us crazy. After complaining to the hotel reception, the staff were able to move us to a room in the back of the hotel away from the tracks. The new room was smaller, but very quiet and cozy and had a nice view of the Prague castle. The bathroom had heated floors and heated towel warmers which were very appreciated in Dec. Complimentary still and sparking water was provided and replenished daily. We were also pleasantly surprised to see the room service provided a plate of Christmas cookies during our stay. A very good hotel

Jan 6th, 2020

Because that’s what it is: a very good hotel. The location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and the Castle, but just off the tourist track and easy to reach by car (with on site or valet parking, at a price) The lay out of the hotel is very spacious and reflects its history as a monastery: wide corridors, large rooms, huge bathrooms (at least to European standards), broad staircases. Rooms and suites are light, comfortable, clean and very well equiped. Staff is very friendly and very efficient. The breakfast buffet offers ample choice. The hotel has a small but nice gym/spa, a good restaurant and a fine bar with a monastic touch. The overall impression is remarkably quiet and serene: a perfect escape from the crowds of tourists that overflow the main attractions of this city, only a few meters away, but actually very much in tune with the atmosphere of Old Prague that’s still there if you care to step off the beaten track. No room for improvement? Perhaps, if I’d mention something like finding only one bathrobe in a room with two guests. It’s trivial and it could happen everywhere, but it should not happen in a five star hotel. All in all: a very good choice if you want value for money without surprises. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice property

Nice property at great location. Very well maintained. Breakfast is delicious even though there are not many choices. Downside is lacking of genuine personal touches. Housekeeping distributed us twice even though for not disturb’ tag was hang outside. No lounge or upgrade for bonvoy platinum elite members. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location. Location. Location

This former monastery has the best location. It is located a short walk from the Charles Bridge on the quiet side of town. During busy tourist seasons, you can be out of the mayhem in a just a short walk. The rooms are also lovely and a little larger than average size for Europe. The only downside is the service which can sometimes be cold and rude. The concierge made our dinner reservations for two when three of us were dining and the doorman screamed at me when I entered the wrong black van going to the airport, but all that said, I would still recommend this hotel as a lovely place to stay.
