Absolutely spectacular property. Rooms are each essentially independent cottages with huge amount of space, private balcony, fire place etc. The lodge sits on a hill that looks right on to the lake so the views are amazing. The staff are incredible and so helpful. They planned dining, day trips, and really anything else you need during your stay. Can’t say enough good things about this property, worth every penny. Pristine luxury and tranquility

Dec 25th, 2019

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. I wouldn’t recommend a shorter stay, as there is so much to do and you won’t want to leave. The staff at Azur thought of every detail from the time of booking (almost one year in advance) through our departure. There are only 9 villas- they are huge and stunning. They all have unobstructed lake/Mountain views, outdoor balcony with sitting area, fireplace, huge bathroom (including a tub you will actually use because of the view + jets so it’s like a hot tub). The staff are so kind and attentive you will feel like you are the only guests when they are at full capacity. The location is perfect. Azur is located about a quick 5 min drive from downtown Queenstown, which means it is close/convenient enough to go out for dinner every night and far enough so you can have undisturbed privacy and peace. The key is they have a few SUVs to take you in and out of town and for airport pick up/drop off so we did not need to rent a car. They will book all activities for you or you can book on your own. All transfers and activities were seamless. We did Milford, helicopter/cruise, shotover jet, gondola, Gibbston wineries and lots of lounging in our villa. Azur has a delicious and flexible breakfast offering. They have a beautiful continental breakfast buffet and everything (and almost anything) else made to order. You can take breakfast is the cozy lodge or right in your gorgeous villa. They also include afternoon tea with homemade dessert, homemade cookies available all day, and pre-dinner canapés (delicious) and drinks. We went out for dinner every night, but you can also order in. Gavin, Michelle, Morgan, Luke, Lola, and the rest of the staff - THANK YOU so much for an incredible stay. You made this one of our best holidays yet! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful and Peaceful while not too far out

Dec 23rd, 2019

Great if you want to avoid the extremely busy Queenstown CBD and have some peace and tranquillity, but still be able to quickly travel there and other nearby attractions (about 10 mins drive), and conveniently close to the airport. I found this particularly good as some other similar venues are far out of the way and make travel too and from complicated. Transport to and transfers are included. It feels like you're on the property all by yourself. The views are stunning and true to the pictures displayed on the website, even better in person. The property is very well maintained. And the service was excellent and friendly with no exceptions. While drinks are served in the main area of the lodge if you travel up there, given the price of accommodations I feel it would be appropriate if the mini bar in the villa was fully inclusive and also had more selections, particularly given enjoying the view with a drink from your own villa is part of the main charm. Note apart from canapes, lunch and dinner is not included, though can be ordered at cost. However it does come professionally presented and always fresh and hot. Breakfast (included) is exceptional and whatever you wish - at the main lodge or in villa. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect in every way.

Nov 26th, 2019

Well, here is another exemplary review about Azur Lodge. After looking at the reviews, there is very little negative to say about this place. And if you do find the negative, you are probably nitpicking. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights just last week. It was the last 2 nights of a 30 day Australian/New Zealand vacation. And we saved the best for last. What a wonder, relaxing place to stay and unwind after a very long and tiring trip From the minute we drove up the driveway and were greeted at the car park, to hugging the staff goodbye (I cried), we knew we were in a special place. I have never felt so welcomed, or treated so kindly and so royally as I have here. It is obvious the staff loves what they do and where they work and they are happy to pass that on to the guests. I could go on and on about Azur Lodge and its “team” but so many reviews before me have done that. Suffice it to say this place is beyond wonderful. Yes, it is expensive but you would be hard pressed to find a view from your villa to match this one, or the service and amenities offered. We splurged, we got pampered and we stayed in Paradise for two nights. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Idylliic Villas

Nov 22nd, 2019

We have stayed in a lot of incredible place around the world and none have been better than Azur. From the moment you arrive until you leave the experience is amazing. The view of the lake and the mountains for our villa was breathtaking. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, but you couldn't go wrong just staying in the villa itself. The in-villa dining was incredible. If you get the chance to visit this place, you will not be disappointed! Thanks to Gavin and the entire staff for making our time there so memorable!
