first time staying here

Feb 16th, 2020

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and location. As a family that frequents Savannah, we felt that there could be few places in the historic district that we had not stayed. The hotel lobby is very beautiful as are the rooms (ours had two beds). The lady at the counter greeted us with mini muffins and fruit infused water at check-in. Every time that we left the hotel and returned, we were greeted with a smile and "welcome back". It was fantastic! The beds were incredibly comfortable. We have an amazing bed at home and my husband stated that this bed at Tryp may have been even more comfy than ours at home! Wow. I will definitely book again and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable upscale Savannah experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Below average

Overall not very clean inside and out. Found multiple items left in our room from previous customers stay. Some of which were illegal. Customer service was lack luster. No continental breakfast and breakfast items were pricey as well. Not worth the price paid for the room. Wouldn't stay here again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very Disappointed

Jan 27th, 2020

I had high expectations for this place and it just did not deliver. First, the parking is quite confusing. You can valet beside the hotel for $30, or park in the lot for $5 per day. If you leave it overnight, that is $5 and then to get it out the next day, it is another $5. So, it $5 every time you basically come in and out of the garage. That is never very clear. The check in process took way too long and the staff was particularly. Actually, none of the staff was particularly friendly. So, I get to my room, which has a view of the a construction site next door. The room was actually nice, even though I booked a king bed and ended up with 2 queen beds. I was fine with it. However, the bathroom was the real issue. The shower head had a leak and completed soaked half of my bathroom. I had to make sure that the shower curtain was closed when I started the water. It was very annoying. Also, one morning I had time before my meeting to eat breakfast in the restaurant. No one was in the restaurant, so I went to the front desk and they said that there was someone in the restaurant and that they would be out in a second. I went in there, sat down and waited a good 10 minutes for someone. Finally, someone came out and then acted as if I was a bother. Overall, it was not a great experience and I will definitely not stay there, again, when I visit Savannah. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good location, not very clean

Jan 27th, 2020

My overall stay was just "ok". The room definitely could have been cleaner. There was trash on the floor beside the second bed that was there when we checked in. I assume it was left by the previous guest and not seen by housekeeping. The shower head and fixtures were covered in soap scum as if they were never cleaned. There were balls of dust above the doorways, and the bed-making seemed as if the bare minimum was done. Honestly had we not had as much planned as we did & spent so little time ik the room I don't think we would've stayed. In regards to the staff, the front desk staff was pleasant and had good suggestions for things to do in the area. Tre was super nice, as was the young lady who checked me out. With all that being said, I really don't think I'd choose this hotel for future trips to Savannah. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My Tryp to Savannah

Jan 26th, 2020

My trip and stay in Savannah was one of personal in nature, my daughter’s wedding. Having been in the city not too long ago, I thought the Tryp would be the perfect place for such an occasion. The decor of the hotel is grand in style and taste. The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself “very” clean. The hotel is rich in history along with the city. The location is very central and minutes from most everything. The room was more than we had anticipated, very luxurious and spacious. The lounge made it for a perfect end to a wonderful evening. If you’re looking for a hotel that is rich in everything it offers without the extravagant cost, then The Tryp is the place. My wife and I were so glad to have chosen this beautiful hotel amongst all the others. I would certainly and gladly return for another stay at this hotel anytime! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
