4 Lovely Days in Bar Harbor

Sep 2nd, 2020

We stayed at the Inn for four nights at the very end of August to very early September 2020. We made reservations less than a week prior and there were only 2 rooms available. We booked the King suite with bay view. It has a bedroom with windows facing the water plus a sitting room with fireplace and a small bathroom with a separate sauna! All good amenities. However, the decor desperately needs a refresh. It is dated in terms of peeling, gaudy wallpaper, a flaking ceiling that had been patched here and there, a somewhat saggy mattress, a tub containing shower, and the sauna turned on but never achieved any acceptable level of heat! I do know that many rooms have been renovated but they haven’t gotten to Room 205! So, while spacious it’s tired looking. Maybe that is why it was available. Breakfast is fabulous with outdoor seating beneath a pergola facing the water and the Shore Path. The hotel’s restaurant, Veranda, serves exceptionally well prepared dinners also accompanied by great service. We would return but with a more up to date room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The best kept secret - boutique inn that feels like home

Aug 21st, 2020

Driving through pretty busy little town of Bar Harbor. Right in the middle of all but tugged at the end of dead end street is standing the best place to stay when exploring not only Acadia but also as base when exploring further. Why? 1. Well positioned small inn - by the second breakfast you will know all the guests including the furry ones. 2. Dogs are very very welcome!!!! You truly will feel like at home because they will feel relaxed like being at home. 3. Beautifully appointed lobby that leads into dinning room and continues to terrace and swimming pool that overlooks peaceful back loan with Adirondack chairs and views to die for! 4. Stay for dinner!!! I mean it! Yes, you can have those fried oysters, clams.... but the restaurant offers delicious food that will make your taste buts to dance and your eyes hungry for more - because each plate is an art and you wanted how other appetizers or main courses will look... so you end up coming back for more. We did! 5. Just steps from path along the water and small park is right next the inn. 6. Locations can be better - convenient but without the crowds that you have push through to see a sunset. Why we will come back? Because of Inn stuff members! Truly amazing service from every single one of them. Frank the man of the house! That does everything around the house but always smiles and says good morning to us. Richard and Justin the super men behind the concierge desk - well, they make sure that your needs are well taken care of. Enes - your glass of water is always full! Nushi and Melica because of you we started our days with positive attitude! Eric the man of dinning room. The handsome bartender who gave us an idea where to do cliff jumping whole served us pretty amazing drinks through the whole stay. Thank you all (even I had not mentioned you by name) for making us feel welcome and home. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I loved the location of this hotel, easy walk into town from the front of the building or the back along the harbor. I wasn't happy with what was offered as dinner option. The only restaurant has an unusual menu that I found nothing I would like. They also do not offer any bar or lunch service if you decide to spend the day at their pool. The rooms were nice and clean. Check in was easy and they do give each guest a walk thru of the property. The breakfast they include was also great. They also allow pets. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect Place to Stay in Bar Harbor

Aug 17th, 2020

Just completed my first visit to BRI - I swear I thought my heart was going to break when it came time to leave. The Inn is just gorgeous and welcoming. Amazing pool with lots of covered places to sit, all overlooking the ocean. You are just steps from Shore Path in one direction (delightful walk along the ocean) and steps from downtown Bar Harbor in the other. Hotel personnel were outstanding at accomodating all requests. Shout out to Justin, Kingston, Richard, Kaneisha, Nushi and "the bee whisperer". They were all fantastic and the owners should know how hard they work, ll while maintaining such a good cheer and a happy demeanor towards guests. It was really such a pleasure to talk to them, they are wonderful. Breakfast is very good and the evenings were just cool enough to permit use of the in-room fireplace. Very clean with great safety protocol for these times. A really wonderful place - I will be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect Getaway

Norman was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond! Best restaurant on the island. Beautiful decor, a real antique hotel. The perfect getaway from the crowds of the beaches and large hotels. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
