A great way to see Venice
Oct 28th, 2020
Spent 4 nights here in September, having last been there in the 1960’s with my parents. It is a luxury hotel near San. Moise church so a few steps from the vaporetto stop at St Mark’s Square. (Vallaresso) it consists of a classic palazzo o the Grand Canal connected to a vast concrete rear addition built in the 1930’s, as part of the drive to improve facilities for tourists. The road across the lagoon was built at the same period. The interior is impressive, full of marble. The rooms are large, ours having a walk-in closet. There are two restaurants, a bar, and a canal-side south facing terrace where refreshments can be had, also a roof terrace. One restaurant is a starred place on the top floor. We did not dine there but in the ground floor one, which was hardly Spartan and had fine food and service. Lounging on the terrace with a glass of decent wine while admiring the Salute opposite was pleasant too. Nothing not to like, in short. Good choice for a central hotel with comfort, fine food and excellent service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice Hotel with Great Location

Stayed with my mother for a week. It is not the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at but it was very good. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was pleasant. the food in the restaurant is very good and the service was fine. The bar with outside patio on the grand canal is amazing! I think we stopped there for a drink almost every day because of the view and friendly service. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. Easy to go to the Square when it is less crowded when you are only steps away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Venice is as quiet as fifty years ago. There are few benefits of Covid but this is one. Prices are much lower than usual but we prepaid many months ago pre Covid. The hotel softened the blow with an upgrade to a palace room with an excellent view across the Canal grande. We had an excellent dinner at Pisis again with the excellent view. The hotel is close to Piazza San Marco. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great City Hotel

It’s not the best 5* hotel I’ve stayed but for a city trip where you spend most of the time outside of the hotel it’s great. Perfect location and if you have a room on the Canal Grande side it’s even better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The genuine venetian Horel experience, with the best location and an extremely dedicated staff and service, has an amazing rooftop and a great terrace for breakfast and lunch, overlooking grand canal. Best Concierge setvice by super dedicated Signor Paolo and Fabio’s the water taxi driver. Paolo made everthing possible for us during this years Film Festival. A Must go to, will return every time. Just avoid the gondolas right outside the hotel as there is where the Gondola Mafia will exploit you more and treat you the worse. But that’s out of the hotel’s control. Viva Bauer and Mr Paolo, Head Concierge I expect. Thank you Paolo for everything Couldn’t have been better, never have seen better. As long as Paolo stays, we’ll always come back.
