Cannot Get an Answer

Just be very aware. Booked in February 2020 for mid March 2020 trip. $8500 worth, paid in full, purchased Trip Insurance. Trip insurance (Part A) says you can cancel for any reason up to including the day of departure for refund in travel certificates...understandable. Then Covid-19 comes along. Two days before trip, I started Calling the 1-800-SANDALS number...same thing every time...listen to Bob Marley for 6 minutes then asked to leave my number and they will call back shortly. Called no less than 20 times over the next 4 days...they never a return call. Not even to this day. Tried at 2am, tried at 7:59am, tried at 11pm, middle of day, etc etc etc, same thing every time. On March 19, 1-800-SANDALS stops taking calls completely...can't leave your number. I understand they are overwhelmed. I let it rest for a couple of weeks then attempt call, I do reach someone...ask what my options are...they say "you didn't show up, you didn't let us know, you forfeit 100% of your money." They did agree to "review" my case. Asked that I email them my call log showing my attempts to reach them. I do so on April 6th. It is now June 21, 2020 without resolution. I email them once per month checking status and they reply "still under review" or "has no information to report" Now I'm taking the route of filing a claim with my credit card company as Sandals has not performed per Part A of Trip Insurance policy. I now want 100% refund of everything I've paid as to their non-performance. Don't care if they offer to reschedule....I want my money back. Finally, be aware, when you are on the "Chat line" talking to Unique Vacation folks, there is an option to provide an email transcript of the chat. I checked this every time...have never received a transcript. Just be aware of this company...I didn't get there so I can't review the accommodations...but my expectations are now...quite low. Avoid Beaches!

Far and Away the Worst Company Ever! Our story is the same as all of the Covid related reviews.. The resort was closed 2+ weeks before our arrival on April 3rd and they were unable to honor our reservation. They refused to refund our money even though they closed the resort and we were still willing to come. We got the same standard answer of "you can reschedule within 12 months" which was not acceptable to us. I spoke to 6 customer service representatives who were not authorized to do anything but reschedule our trip. I also sent them 5 emails documenting all our interactions and they never responded to one of them. So bad in every way possible. We decided to take action and disputed the charge with American Express and just found out they found in our favor and gave us a full refund! We will never vacation at a Beaches resort. This is how they treat customers in a worldwide pandemic. No thanks... We can find another sandy beach to sit on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

BEWARE : Beaches closed their resort due to COVID and won't refund $14,000

DO NOT BOOK HERE EVER! Like others have said, my family and I were scheduled to vacation at Beaches Turks and Caicos 6/18/2020. Turks and Caicos airport is closed until 7/22/20 (this has changed at least 4 times now). American Airlines called us, cancelled our flights and gave us a full refund due to the Coronavirus. But Beaches - NOPE. They are only offering us to reschedule our vacation or take a 50% refund and We paid for travel protection. They are disgusting - have hung up in our face multiple times as soon as we mentioned the word cancel (we were being extremely nice at this point). Finally I had to get an attitude because no one there knows what they are doing or had a positive solution. This company is NASTY and I hope for whoever is reading this, that you take this review seriously. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Assistance with Rebooking

Thank you Beaches for your assistance with rebooking our family vacation to Turks and Caicos. We were scheduled to arrive June 28, 2020 but unfortunately the resort will not be open by then. A Beaches Representative called us, gave us alternative dates for 2021 (as well as 2020) and we are good to go. No issues, very easy, excellent customer service. We look forward to our vacation next year. Please remember the Representatives have been rescheduling hundreds of reservations, so have patience and be kind - we are all disappointed that we cant go this year, don't take it out on them. Poor quality and not worth the price

Stayed there 7/27/2019-8/3/2019. They boast about being luxury quality but in all honesty they are just average at best. In their defense, it is really hard to provide true five star quality to thousands of people at the same time but they should not claim to be 5 stars because it truly misrepresents the resort. The rooms were about like a 1970s Holiday Inn--they were in dire need of renovation and very worn and outdated. The food was likewise just meh overall--some places were just OK but none were five star quality. The resort was also very dirty and they often would recycle towels without washing them. If you want better service and clean towels, you have to really pay big bucks for a private butler. The butlers always claim most of the chairs at the beach and pool for their guests leaving only the broken chairs in the worst insect laden places for everyone else. The butlers also book almost all of the available seats on their diving boats and glass bottom boats so the average guest has no chance of using those amenities which are supposed to be included in the price of your trip. What brings me to rate them a one star is their overall customer service. It is truly disappointing the way they treat their customers--way below average for the price you pay to stay there. In summary, just not a good value or experience and I strongly recommend that someone who wants to visit Turks look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
