We never stay anywhere else

Jul 9th, 2020

We've been coming here every summer for 5 years now and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. 2 pools, loads of hot tubs, putt putt and game room and nice size apartments are ideal for families. Staff is usually very accommodating, free firewood delivered promptly and by someone friendly everytime. Periodic maid service that is generally friendly. Not offered during covid. Splurged this year for the 2 story 2 bedroom condo in bldg. 2 and love it. Great size kitchen for grocery storage and cooking. Amazing views out the front and back. Easy drive or walk to town. This place has everything we want or need. A few restaurants on-site. We think bang for your buck for summer rates is there. I imagine winter rates are high for ski in ski out TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful place

Jul 7th, 2020

This resort is beautiful. We had a very nice time using the spa, the game room and swimming pool. It was a great little getaway time for us. Breckenridge is a great place for shopping and enjoying a romantic time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Affordable and decent option

Jul 6th, 2020

Great rates, beautiful grounds and good location. The shower was the best we ever had in a condo or hotel! Great hiking paths right on the property. Great shop on premise also. The cons: no a/c, no place to get coffee in the am (I suppose due to the virus but this is a huge resort and we had to drive to town just to buy coffee...if the town coffee shops were open I think the resort could have served coffee). Sure there are probably better places to stay but this was great for the price! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location great, some flaws.

Jul 6th, 2020

I love the location. We were there in the summer and you could walk out the door and hike into nature. I do think the resort is much more suited to winter and skiing. We got a good price through Hotwire. The price given at registration was not really close, though I was told we were getting a special deal. The room was nicely appointed, and had what you would need for an extended stay. The bed, however, was awful. It was a king, but sloped towards the middle so badly I slept on the couch. With one person it would maybe be ok. Resort is very large and has great amenities, just more aimed for winter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Repeat visitor disappointing experience this year

Jul 2nd, 2020

We are repeat visitors to Beaver Run, first visiting from the UK in 2014. We love the convenience of the hotel to the slopes, which is why we return each year. We always stay in building 4 for easy access from the boot room to the ski lifts. The pool in this building is also quieter. We always book a room with a kitchen area so we can make our own breakfast and lunches. We love the free shuttle service that the hotel runs down to Main Street and use it most evenings. This year our experience was not good. As a frequent traveller, I expect problems to arise, and always rate a hotel on how well they put things right. Unfortunately on this trip Beaver Run did nothing to put things right. On arrival at 4pm for check in we were told our room was not ready. We had groceries in the car and the staff were very reluctant to assist with storing cold goods. The room took 90min to be ready for us, no apologies for the delay, no explanations provided. When we arrived at the room we found it was not the room type we had booked, when we phoned down to reception the staff were unhelpful and said it was the only room left. Again, no apologies or offers to put things right. Beaver Run advertise the following within their booking policy “Beaver Run Resort is a non-smoking and cannabis smoke free property, with all non-smoking units, including the balcony.” This is an unenforced policy. Our room had cannabis products left in the kitchen by the previous guests. Every evening the corridors in the building smelt of cannabis smoke. This heavy smoke caused one of the bedrooms in our condo to become hazy with smoke. Every night it was reported to the duty manager and the only response we got was security coming to spray deodorising liquid in the room. On our final evening there was a snow storm and the I-70 was closed to Denver. We phoned and asked to extend our stay, and were informed they were fully booked but would be put on a cancellation list. We phoned around all other hotels, all were fully booked. So we went to speak with a duty manager and explained we were stranded with nowhere to stay and no way of leaving town. They sent us away saying they could not help us. So we spent 7 hours driving to Denver. With no experience of driving in snow storm conditions and no snow chains on our renewal vehicle it was a very stressful experience. We are undecided whether we will give the hotel a second chance, or just move on to another hotel or another resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
