This lodge and spa is absolutely amazing! Our 3rd time staying here and they treat you wonderfully as soon as you walk in the door. Their amenities and hospitality is spectacular! You couldn’t ask for anything more! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pretty close to perfect

My husband and I have stayed at Bernardus in every season and weather; it has always been wonderful. From the drive up to reception passing the vines, to the warm greeting with a glass of thier signature Sauvignon Blanc, there is nothing you'd want to change. The rooms are romantic and the beds are so comfortable you'll wish you could take one home. The spa with it's lovely warming pool is open to all guests--no appointment for a service necessary. The management here has truely thought of everything. Wonderful grounds, wonderful food, wonderful rooms. Small enough to offer personal ambience and just big enough to offer just about anything your heart desires. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A great location for you and your 4 pawed pal! very convenient for Laguna Seca too!

My wife, myself and our 14 year old Aussie Shepherd spent a lovely weekend at the Bernardus Lodge and Spa. Staying in one of their ground floor suites, we were very impressed with the level of comfort and cleanliness... its a small intimate property, with beautiful grounds, and very attentive and helpful staff. Definitely a location to take your dog along, with some nice walks around the grounds with plenty of poop bag stations... my only criticism, such as it is, is that there is limited dining opportunities for you and your dog, its basically room service or the bar menu on the patio, neither of which were hugely inspirational ... but that's about it ... otherwise we have a lovely restful stay at this stylish gem in the Carmel Valley ... p.s also a plus for those of you attending an event at Laguna Seca its only about a 15 minute drive away! Very good overall but with a few issues

Jan 20th, 2020

We just finished a 2 night stay at Bernardus Lodge. Overall we liked the property; the rooms were comfortable, public areas very nice, good spa, and mostly good service. The negatives were relatively minor, but worth noting at the prices charged: sound insulation between the rooms was poor -- it was easy to hear others in adjacent rooms. The rooms and views are quite close together so there is little privacy; with curtains open others can look right into most of the rooms. And if you get a rate that includes breakfast, be forewarned that the credit they provide ($30/pp) is actually not enough to order one breakfast item per person plus coffee (much less juice or anything else); it is short by about $15 for two people. When I complained about this to the front desk they shrugged their shoulders and said that was just the way it worked. I would recommend the property and probably would return but the service attitude at the front desk was offputting and the reservation process misleading about the breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
