3rd time staying here this year, we stay for the location it is convenient to downtown Charleston only minutes away. It is budget friendly for family, some good places to eat near by. Rooms are basic rooms, staff has always been friendly, specially the cleaning staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This was a long weekend get away trip for us to visit Charleston and the surrounding area. We're Diamond Rewards members with BW and have enjoyed many other BW locations over the years. We were happy about the location and the exterior of this location, check-in was kinda normal for these times we are living in, and we went to our room. It was clean and seemed fine so we unpacked and then went out for dinner. Upon arrival back to the room it smelled like a skunk had visited, I went to the front desk asked for and received some air fresher and it did help a lot but I did spray the bottom of the AC, carpet and other areas. The next day, before leaving to go site seeing, I went to the breakfast area to get some coffee for my wife and some OJ for myself and no OJ to be had and the coffee the wife said it was awful. We didn't return until late in the evening where I discovered a well used cleaning sponge laying on top of my tooth brush beside the bathroom sink I'm just glad I had another one on hand. The next morning we were ready to check out, went to the front desk to see no one was there, waited a few minutes and while waiting they had 2 clear boxes marked "room keys".... I rang the bell and after another few minutes a young lady came out and stated for us to place our room keys in the box and a receipt would be emailed to us.... at the time I'm writing this review it's been 6 days and no receipt. To say the least I was disappointed in this BW property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Would not return to this property. However the room was clean and wake-up call was provided.

Room 300 had a broken lock. Keys issued did not work, Room could not be opened upon arrival, Front desk check-in clerk after vetting my ID and authorized CC payment, was rude and resistant to moving us to another room before we unpacked . We were tired from a long drive and eager to bathe and shower before dinner. Absolutely refused to send us to another hotel when after the room door could be opened with either key from the outside, it would not close or lock from the inside. Ended up going back to the front desk 3 times before we could occupy room 300. Called a different hotel for local dinner suggestions. Room 300 was clean with a comfortable bed and bathroom. However TV did not work even after several calls to the front desk before retiring for the night. Missed NFL Monday Night Football which really irritated me. Checked out early and upon departure alerted Front Desk Manager I would be notifying General Manager Tiffany Bell of these an acceptable issues .Also recommend lock on room 300 it be checked for EZ opening from the inside before re-renting. Have no idea whether it was unoccupied for 24 hours before our arrival. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Used to be our favorite, likely won’t go back after this trip.

Liked · Room was clean, hotels halls, elevator & rooms had a freshly cleaned smell. Location is excellent for traveling over to historic Charleston or a day at the beach at the Isle of Palms. Disliked · When we arrived, there was a very rude woman at the front desk. We arrived right around 4:00 pm to check in. She informed us our reservation had been cancelled because they tried to charge our room to the credit card before we arrived. She said I couldn’t just do a walk in check in & that I needed to go outside & rebook on Booking.com, even though the rates were then higher. That to me was a bait & switch so they could charge us more. Very disappointed. Who can’t do a walk in check in, especially after you cancelled my reservation?!? I had all the confirmation paperwork with me. We should have just left & gone to another hotel because at that point, the rates had gone up & we had to pay more than we budgeted. We had also requested a room on a higher floor, away from children & noise, because we were there for Anniversary/birthday trip. They stuck us next to a room with 4 screaming, jumping, yelling, running screaming in the halls, toddlers. When we went to the desk to complain of the noise around 9:15 pm, the shift manager didn’t seem to care & wouldn’t move us to another room. At 6:15 am the following morning, the screaming, running, banging on doors children started again. Breakfast was bagged “grab & go” due to COVID. The pool was absolutely filthy with leaves & junk in the bottom. We will never book at this hotel again & it WAS our absolute favorite until this trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Upon Arrivl not so friendly greeting Got into room floor was damp and dirty, commode lid would not stay up due to shelf that had been installed over the commode, no hat water for three days had to take cold or semi cold showers, shower curtain moldy at the bottom, Commode kept running day and noght TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
