smells like sewage in the halls and a bit in a room (palenque building at least), their paid 'high speed' internet is 1.4 mb only and very unstable, stuff is rude, only 1 restaurant was open and food was barely okay. in the bar there were some pool tables and air hockey - those are paid like 20 pesos each in coins, and they don't have any. we got all the coins from souvenirs stores around but they wouldn't change more. bathroom equipment was not okay even for 3 stars, like there were no toilet brush for example. i can go on and on, there was nothing i'd be excited of. there is no any kind of soundproofing, heard every noise from neighbors and my room was in front of their wash room, so everything from there too. oh, well, mattress and pillows were good TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed for 3 days to celebrate the wedding of a relative, the hotel is already a bit old, the beds are comfortable we were in an all-inclusive, the food is very good and the specialty restaurants I liked the French food one, things I didn't like was the waiting time to take a cart to take you to your room is long as the hotel is immense, there are many species of animals in freedom (coatis, raccoons, etc.) so if you enjoy living with nature you will love it, the pools they are very large and one has very good shade. Nearby there is a small cenote, but due to the hurricane there was too much wattle and it is not very accessible to get there, the wedding event was very good, what I did not like was that there was a bad smell I do not know why it was! This was the WORST resort I've ever stayed at. We had to buy our own water in the gift shop, nobody would stock mini fridge. this resort is a step below Motel 6.Try Iberostar or Palace resorts instead TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I vacationed with my family here, we were hoping to have an incredible time, unfortunately that wasn't the case. Food is below average, I realized by the third day that the food is often reheated, and served again (don't eat the chicken!) There is only ONE restaurant open during the day that serves breakfast and 'lunch', so youre on a tight schedule to eat. Breakfast from 7-11, lunch from 12-5, Dinner from 6-10. THERE IS NO SNACK BAR. After 9pm, they have "box lunches" available in the lobby, but in reality, it's just the left overs from the restaurant. There is little to no variety in the buffet menus, if you bring any picky eaters, they might have a hard time. You have to make a dinner reservation EVERYDAY physically in the hotel's lobby, if you go after 3, good luck getting a reservation! The drinks are also lousy, they used cheap alcohol that I've never seen in my life, and for fruity drinks, they might as well be using Kool aid. Playa del Carmen is a beautiful place, but this hotel's beach does it no justice! They have some sort of barricades that prevent the waves from flowing, therefore, the water is dirty, it smells bad, and there is ton of algae scattered throughout. (The hotel next told has a beautiful beach! We decided to walk over and spend the afternoons on their side of the beach) There is a bar by the pool, but you have to get in and out of you want anything( no poolside service) Most of the staff is very nice and helpful, other that that, this is a terrible place to stay. I fully regret wasting my time and money here. If you happen to travel here and Strom strikes, be ready to be relocated to a forgotten building with no AC, the mini bar was not stocked, I asked room service to bring some water, that never happened! Overall, it's a nice hotel in a beautiful place on the globe, it has lots of potential if management (or whoever) decided to invest a little bit more. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We've stayed at many resorts in Mexico, this was by far the worst! No AC or tv in room, took 24 hrs to get moved to a room with AC. Took another 24 hrs to get minibar stocked with cold drinks. You will walk forever just to get a free beer. We had blood on our pillowcase ( not ours) and pee in the toilet ( again not ours) customer service is terrible. Big resort and be prepared to walk, they have only 2 golf carts and they are always busy. If people are leaving good reviews for this resort, they've never been at a nice resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
