A True Gem

Aug 15th, 2019

My husband and I just returned from 3 magical days at The Blue Lantern. I found it online and we were in search of a three day mini break within 3 hours of our home in La Jolla, California. What an absolute find! The setting is unbeatable with a full view of the Dana Point Harbor and the ocean- mesmerizing. Our room had a previous patio and the room size was just perfect. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. They offer a full breakfast and a lovely happy hour. We cannot wait to come back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Relaxing & Rejuvenating Get Away

Aug 6th, 2019

Our stay at the Blue Lantern Inn at Dana Point was amazing! The view of the Bay from our balcony was spectacular, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful! Hiking trails are nearby as are many restaurants. Loaner bikes are available. Our 40th wedding anniversary could not have been any better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Always a cozy stay

Jul 24th, 2019

My husband and I stayed here for our first night of our honeymoon many years ago and have made a tradition of celebrating our anniversary here every year since (our kids join too). We always look forward to the cozy room with the fireplace and beautiful ocean view. Breakfast is always delicious and the wine at cheese hour is so fun. While I would say this is more of a romantic couples bed and breakfast, they have been very accommodating and sweet when our kids stay with us. The walk to local restaurants and coffee shops is very easy and it is a very short drive (1 minute really) to get to the harbor below the bed and breakfast. It is definitely a family favorite that holds a special place in our hearts. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beauty and Luxury Along the Coast

Jul 10th, 2019

This inn is a gem. The location was fantastic and the view spectacular. The room was luxurious and the meals were delicious. We will book again. Highly recommend! Booking was very simple. We arrived later than expected and were greeted warmly by the staff. The lobby was quiet with couples enjoying wine, conversation and table games. The beds were extremely comfortable. Even the room coffee was delicious! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Harbor View, Great Atmosphere

Jul 4th, 2019

We checked in on Friday afternoon 6/28/19 at Blue Lantern Inn for our 10th anniversary. We had a harbor view, the room was clean, and the service was friendly and accommodating. The room was cozy and quaint with a seaside theme (as is the Inn). The wine and hors d’oeuvres hour was welcoming, relaxing, and delicious including an assortment of cheeses, crackers, and crudités, and condiments. Oh - and homemade cookies, coffee, and tea. The buffet breakfast was very good and there is a single serve k-cup type coffee maker in the room if you need that cup of brew to get your day started. Close to several restaurants (some within walking distance), the harbor, and San Juan Capistrano where we spent our Saturday. No reflection on the Inn, but the little gazebo at the viewpoint next to the Inn is fenced off and not accessible as are the cliffs. It looks like perhaps there are safety issues. Still you can walk up to those points and have a great harbor view. There were many couples, as well as a few brides and bridesmaids, and lots of selfies. Our room had one slight issue. The air conditioning kept turning on and off during the night - most likely because the vent where the air comes out is too close to the thermostat. We did have the windows open awhile, but there are no screens on the windows and we didn’t want to let any bugs in. We were able to sleep in so it wasn’t so bad. All in all it was a beautiful, relaxing weekend - just as it was 10 years ago. I highly recommend this Inn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
