Came to Puerto Rico for a funeral.

Oct 25th, 2019

My stepson passed away in New York and was buried in Puerto Rico. At the suggestion of a relative we booked 3 nights at the Borinquen Beach Inn. The room rate was reasonable and the room was adequate and clean. The water was hit and the water good in the shower. These were the things that were important to us. Natalia checked us in, escorted us to our room and turned on the air conditioning. She was friendly and efficient. At the end of our stay I got to see her as we were leaving and told her I was satisfied with our stay. This hotel is very close to the beach. Before catching our Uber back to the airport, we walked the short path to take a look at the beautiful ocean. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

August 2019

I have stayed here on a couple of occasions and it's safe, clean and comfortable. The Isla Verde beach is your back yard. Restaurants are near by and the CVS too. Charlie Car Rental is across the street. The staff is friendly and helpful and the check in was good too, I got there a hour before check in and in 10 minutes was told the room was ready. I will book again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and simple

Jul 6th, 2019

Clean and simple place to stay with a few minutes walk to beach and restaurants. It is not fancy but does have decent rooms (ask for doubles), free WiFi and free parking. It looks like a one story house set amongst high rises. If you expect a quiet time there, forget it as you can hear a lot of street activity when it is busy or people talking when arriving early morning. Otherwise it is a clean and simple place to stay. And, minutes from the airport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Things you must know

May 6th, 2019

I booked through a travel site thinking it couldn’t be that bad. If I knew what to expect, it may not have been so bad. First, there is A key. That’s it. It’s an old fashioned metal key and if you plan to separate from your party, they allow you to take the key to the office and they hold on to it for whoever gets back first. Must have ID to get key. Next, they will NOT allow the a/c unit to go below 70 degrees. It will be on 74 or 73 and you’ll have to persuade them to turn it down. The unit can only be operated by remote and the office holds on to it and will come to the room to change the temp. Too cold? You have to go to the office. The area is ....lively. You will need Benadryl and/or ear plugs. From music, traffic to include motorcycles, garbage trucks, and drivers beeping their horns- it’s loud....even at 3 and 4 am. Bring soap. Bring a wash cloth. Close to restaurants, good price

Apr 6th, 2019

As other reviewers have indicated this is a "you get what you pay for hotel" and indeed, for the price it was worth it. Free parking on premises, large, clean, room, working a/c unit, front entrance security, shared kitchen. The bath towels were small, not a surprise, but there were also hand towels. The hot water was not very warm, but there was an issue with getting the water to warm at all. After 2 conversations with the front desk staff, she revealed the trick to the way water. Since this is an issue others have reported, it would help to have it posted in the room. Hot water works when the hot is backed off a little rather than on full hot. The 3 of us all had adequately warm showers. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
