I stayed in 2009 but think it’s still relevant

Hands down the worse spa beauty treatment/massage my now husband and I ever had was here, I went for a facial and instead of a soothing massage or perhaps some moisturising products put on my face or a mask, she started to squeeze my blackheads (we all have them) this was just before I was to pick up my fiancé from the airport so instead of a nice refreshed, relaxed face, I had a red blotchy looking face. The next day we arranged to have a romantic couples massage in the room. What a joke. A blind man and a large, masculine looking woman came up to massage us. They set the beds away from each other so we weren’t side by side. We had the uncomfortable choice on which one would choose which to massage us. I ended up choosing the woman and my husband got the blind man (yes, I said blind). It was the worst massage either one of us ever had. I can’t believe the hotel would hire people like this to massage their guests. It wasn’t supposed to be like therapy...it was supposed to be romantic and relaxing. We still talk about it to this day. Great Stay During These Crazy Times

We stayed at the Boston Harbor Hotel during August 2020 . From the moment we checked in, the hotel did a great job of making us feel safe. Everything was very clean and social distancing and masks were enforced in common areas. We were handed a bag with masks, sanitizer and a touch less key. The TV remotes were sterilized and sealed in plastic and the housekeeping did a really nice job about cleaning the room everyday. My son even got chocolate chip cookies every day and I had a special present on my birthday , which happened to fall during our stay. The room we stayed in was a Premier Suite with great views of the Harbor. Being near North End means a great choice of eating options as well as delivery through GrubHub and DoorDash. The room has a sofa bed ( for those with kids) They do not let the delivery drivers into the hotel , which is a great safety mechanism but on the flip side, it means that you will need to meet the driver outside to pick up your order should you decide to use a food delivery service , which was honestly fine with us since we prefer to be over cautious during these times I did get a chance to use the pool and gym during my stay . These are only available by reservation and booked for 45 mins at the top of each hour . They do a really great cleaning during the 15 mins before each appointment and on most days, we, a family of 3, had the entire pool to ourselves. All in all , it was a great stay and we will be back whenever we visit the area again . My only feedback to the hotel is to make sure that staff is a little better trained to be more respectful . Most of them were absolutely delightful ( special thanks to the door men who went above and beyond and made us feel so welcome ) but on one occasion, I had a pool appointment and found housekeeping in the room . I knocked the room to ask how long it would take for them to complete and if I could grab my towel and backpack and head to the pool .. the attendant rudely said no . After requesting again , she stepped out but within a minute started banging on the room door again . On another occasion , I asked a staff if the old phone outside the elevator still worked ( a question my seven year old asked me) and the staff scornfully responded , “of course , it works” and walked away.. Again, these are small things and our overall stay was very enjoyable . For those thinking of traveling to Boston and worried about COVID, I think Boston Harbor Hotel is a great option . They take the cleanliness seriously and seem to be doing everything possible to make sure the visitors can have a luxurious stay during these difficult times. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great spot for an introduction to Boston

Given COVID19 its really difficult to really give a objective view of a hotel at the moment. The room was great, although the bathroom was a little small given the overall size of the suite. Staff interaction was all good. I think what was really the problem was that common areas were limited. Booking to use gym. Closed bars. This is not a slight at this hotel. We just hope any “new normal” means hotels like Boston Harbour can soon deliver the service they capable of. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Now One of My Top 5 Favorite Hotels

Took 2 separate trips to New England as part of our Summer road trip. Spent 1 night at the BHH before heading to NH for the 4th of July weekend and was so impressed with the staff, facilities and the hotel itself, we made a point of returning later in the month and stayed for 2 more nights. Booked through my AMEX Fine Hotels and resorts and received an unexpected treat as we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the harbor and the City. There is no turn-down service due to COVID but other than that we didn't feel like there was anything missing from the service or amenities. LOVED the breakfast at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille and was happy to eat outside....even on a 90 degree day. My 11 year old loves room service...Ordered room service for lunch twice and was delicious. Walking distance to the New England Aquarium, Chinatown and great neighborhood restaurants. A 5-star hotel isn't all about how fancy the furnishings are or the chandelier in the lobby.....but how welcome the staff makes you feel and how well things are run. The BHH is definitely now one of our top 5 favorite hotels and excited to return in the Fall. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A little corporate and really wish they had a nicer restaurant and bar. Otherwise great rooms, view over the harbor and wonderful spa and work out area with a pool. Staff is attentive and easy to park your car. Elevator is slow though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
