This hotel is in a remote location about 32 miles north of Phoenix
The guest rooms, or casitas, at the Boulders Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton in Scottsdale, Arizona (roughly 32 miles north of downtown Phoenix) look out over miles of cacti and rugged mountains. When you're not admiring the views from your private patio or balcony, order room service and curl up in front of your wood-burning fireplace. You can also play golf on one of two courses, lounge by one of four pools or grab a bite to eat at one of five restaurants. However, according to recent visitors, you'd be remiss if you stayed here and didn't indulge in a treatment at the massive on-site spa. And because of the resort's ties to Hilton Hotels, members of the Hilton Honors loyalty program can use points to pay for rooms – that means additional cash to invest in massages and facials.

Twelve million years ago, at the edge of the Sonoran Desert, its iconic rocks were forming. Sometime after that a hotel was named in their honor. Today the resort is built around that spectacular view. When you can tear your glance away, rustic-elegant casitas with wood-burning fireplaces beckon, as do the award-wining golf courses.

One of the country's top resorts — and one of the few with an all-organic approach — hides amid hill-size, 12-million-year-old granite boulders and the lush Sonoran Desert. Casitas snuggled against the rocks have exposed log-beam ceilings and curved, pueblo-style half walls.
