SO DISAPPOINTING!!

Sep 18th, 2019

Zero service because literally no one other than the cleaning lady was around during our entire stay. We received a text about which unit to check into and that was it. Cafe was closed, front office was abandoned. This is like an Airbnb rental with the bare amenities. The website makes this place look so much more appealing than what it is. Not sure how to even access the pool (and definitely no poolside service), no TV, no microwave (we booked a studio with kitchenette), no curtains to keep the bright sun out in the mornings (even with all the shades drawn). It's like a wannabe Ace Hotel without the hotel part. "Direct" beach access means walking across the street and about 60 feet out onto the beach, which is fine but again the pictures and description combined are a bit deceiving.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Delightful

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The room was clean, bright and the decor was tasteful. The leesa mattress was a huge plus! We enjoyed lunch while laying poolside and the beach is right across the street!! The beach is very private and perfect for anyone looking for some piece and quiet. Careful if you have children because there is no lifeguard on this part of the beach. The cafe closes a bit early at 7pm but it was nice not having noise on property late into the evening. Will be coming back to stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The place is a dump

It's old and tired. The help is nasty and the locals hang out at the bar and complain about all the guests. This place need a makeover of both the facility and the staff. I will not be going back. There are many better choices in Montauk. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The WORST!!!

Jul 2nd, 2019

Sharing the email that I sent to management, that was never replied to, even after multiple follow up emails. Hello, My mom and I made a special trip out to Montauk to celebrate Mother’s Day this past weekend. We booked The Breaker’s at the recommendation of ***friend's name***, friends who know Helen Ficalora (the owner) well. I’m sorry to say, that we were extremely disappointed with the accommodations and the management. When we arrived, we were directed to room 14. We immediately noticed that the room was run down, with holes in the wall and a stained blanket on the bed. The housekeeping staff provided a clean blanket, out of a garbage bag and gave us a few extra toiletries. We also inquired as to the hours of the All Day Cafe and were told it would be closed for the duration of our stay; information that would have been helpful before we checked in. When we returned from dinner that evening and tried to set up the futon, not only were there no instructions on how to lay it flat, but there were no extra sheets provided. Additionally, the room was so poorly lit, it was not even possible to read, since there are no TVs (which Google, and the sign out front, says there are). The next morning, after little sleep due the extremely uncomfortable futon, I went to the front desk to voice our concerns and was told by Andre, that a manger would contact us by phone. By 4P we had not heard from anyone and called the front desk again, only to be told that the manager was notified by email and should get back to us. There were sheets that evening, but two fitted Queen sized sheets, and no flat sheet. The following morning, I tried to go to the office, but the door was still locked at 10.30A. I called, no answer. Around noon, Andre phoned back and offered to switch us to another room and extend our stay by one evening. Hoping that things would be improved, we accepted. Room 5 was not much better. Again, there were no sheets, (I had to retrieve the set from room 14). There was also no shade on the bathroom window, so we had to tuck a towel in for privacy. When we returned from our outing on Sunday afternoon, we found the door left completely ajar! I assume that housekeeping did not close it firmly when they left. On the one day we had nice weather, I’d hoped to use the pool, but could not gain access. Ahead of posting a negative review, outlining all of the above on Trip Advisor and Google, I wanted to give The Breakers an opportunity to try to rectify what was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever encountered. Do not recommend!!

Jun 27th, 2019

I've stayed in several hotels in Montauk and this was by far the worst! Overpriced, staff was really rude, the room was dirty, and very dated. There are much better properties to stay at. Don't bother with this one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
