I came here with my mum for a 2 night stay. Firstly was ripped off by wowcher, as it cost £139 for two nights on there and only £41 per night on when we got there it was studant central with student appartments at both front qnd back of hotel. Decor poor. Tiny bathrooms. Loud, was unable to sleep properly. Breakfast was shocking, no cooked breakfast. Only good thing was girl at reception was lovely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good stay, but few things to note.

Sep 7th, 2020

Room for 2 is quite small, even for a couple. However, well decorated room and hotel especially the communal areas with honesty bar and free pool table. Unfortunately the room smelt of cigarette smoke and housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, with stains on sheets which were not changed. In light of covid, we were told to put a sign on our door if we wanted housekeeping, to minimise contact. We did this but our room was still not serviced. Due to covid-19 breakfast was delivered to our room, which was delicious! Also approx a 15 min walk from Grassmarket/Edinburgh Castle area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Interesting hotel!

Aug 30th, 2020

Hotel in perfect spot for centre of Edinburgh etc! Hotel very interesting...never stayed in a room with a slanty floor/bed! Unfortunately I'm coeliac and vegetarian which the hotel found difficult to grasp or be prepared for, despite me letting them know ahead! Staff did want to go buy me bread but I'm pretty confident that they would know nothing about cross contamination.... Room was ok, lots of stains on the carpet and dirt behind the bedside table (Room 207....check for the M +M!) Tried to charge us for wine, I'm allergic and my partner does not drink it! No breakfast delivered because we did not personally hand form in to reception....silly us put it in the Breakfast basket .... No info in room so no number for Reception.... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great customer service but a few issues

Aug 17th, 2020

We stayed here for a few days and found the hotel to be really nice, it's in a great location only 10 minutes walk to the castle and about 15 to the city centre. There are also several tour buses that stop not too far away so can easily hop on one of them and get round the city. There were a few issues with our stay, first of all was with Breakfast as it's all brought up to the room in a basket which is very nice but some of the food is not hot when it arrives but that's no fault of the staff, it's just due to the current situation. The staff were also very helpful when it came to catering for dairy intolerances, bringing up dairy free items for us. The other slight issues was the bed in the room wasn't level and was lower at the head then the foot of the bed, we had to sleep the other way round to counter this. Other than that, we had a great stay and would highly recommend people to stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Brooks hotel Edinburgh excellent

Jul 31st, 2020

Stayed here with my daughter aged ten, son and his girlfriend . Two double rooms including breakfast £89. £15 for parking. The rooms are beautiful and the bed was super comfy. It’s within 10 min walk to princess street and approx £7 for a taxi. There is a Tesco nearby for anything your son and his girlfriend have forgotten to pack ( deodorant) !!! No cooked breakfast at the moment but that was fine we had a lovely hamper delivered at the time of our choice. We selected what we wanted the night before and we were so pleased with breakfast . The pastries were fresh and warm and the honey yoghurt granola was so nice. Fresh bottles of milk and orange juice accompanied cereal and fruit. Have booked to stay here again in September. The bar is an unmanned help your self and leave you name room number and what you had. It’s well stocked and clean. The staff were fantastic all adhering to covid 19 rules and very helpful. Excellent value for money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
