Nice hotel but far away from everything

Stayed at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder for 4 nights because it was the selected venue for a professional development program. It is quite nice. You would never know there is a casino on premises, since it is on a lower level. The hotel lobby has very attractive southwest architecture and native American decor motifs, rather than the face full of bling you get walking into a Las Vegas casino-hotel. The restaurant is quite competent although pricey. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and with attractive furnishings. Internet service was fine. A problem I encountered was that I needed to print 10 copies of a 1 page document for my meeting and none of the four computers in the "business center" would talk to the printer. I emailed it to the front desk with a request to print the pages and that took half a day. So based on that, this is not a business class hotel regardless of the nice lobby or hotel rooms. One other issue is that it is a good 25 minute drive north from the city of Santa Fe, with very few amenities nearby. There is a free shuttle with a limited schedule, and Uber or Lyft will be about $25 each way. It will cost $40 to/from the airport, which the shuttle does not go to. So access to a car is desirable. My husband and I stayed here two nights. Room was nice and spacious. I was not happy with the "Starbucks" as they didn't take Starbucks cards because it was a beverage area that served Starbucks drinks..cashier was rude. Casino was nice and the food in the bar down in the casino was excellent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice room but terrible internet service

Not surprising to have slow internet service, unless the premium subscription is paid or complementary. In this case, it was the complete ABSENCE of service that was vexing. A call to the front desk netted me a toll-free phone number to contact. A half hour conversation with the service provider did no good but provided me a promise that the solution would just take time. The time involved was over an hour. Otherwise, the stay was fine, although the property is in need of sprucing up. I declined to dine in any of the places on property because of the air pollution from cigarette smoke leaking from the on-site casino. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Rude Staff on Check In. Room Trashed.

Arrived 3/4 and asked the clerk at the front desk about availability. I also identified myself as a Hilton Honors member. She didn't look up from her phone, didn't look fro applicable discounts with my membership, and was basically rude. After an 8 hour drive, I was in no mood for this. I went downstairs to the Casino to V.I.P. Services and they gave me a room at HALF PRICE. The room I was given had peeling wallpaper, dents in the wall, and a missing picture with the hangers still in the drywall. Typically satisfied with Hilton properties, but this was a bad experience.
