Beautiful resort, amazing service, & BEST kids cub we've ever experienced

Feb 27th, 2020

My husband and I took our 3 kids here (ages 5, 16 & 18) and we all enjoyed this place. The first few days we stayed in connecting rooms and then got upgraded to a villa. The villa (even though expensive) is worth it. It changes the entire vacation for the better. The walk to the regular rooms is long and has lots of stairs so being in a villa right on the beach makes it worthwhile (plus you get a pool, personal butler, bicycles, lots of space etcetera...). The food and service was also all around excellent. But the standout feature was the kids club. We travel a lot and have never left our toddler in a kids club. I would always feel like I was abandoning her with strangers. Here, she was begging to go! It was low key and low tech but the women in charge (Vicki & Myla) run it like a camp (btw no extra charge for it). They went fishing, sailing, cooking classes, made and flew kites, nature walking, planted a palm tree and much more. They even did an incredible pirate scavenger hunt all around the hotel where they ultimately found buried treasure. My teens were jealous of all the fun they were having! It was a lot of time in nature and very laid back so there was never pressure to do anything. Thanks to Vicki and Myla, my husband and I actually got to steal some alone time which usually doesn't happen on family vacations. These women are amazing and my daughter still asks about them constantly. This was our first but not last time to the COMO! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful resort, great food, great service, DONT GO WHEN THERES A COMPANY RETREAT

Feb 25th, 2020

I visited parrot cay years ago before it was a COMO hotel and sought out the same relaxing, beautiful wellness-oriented experience this year with my husband as we both celebrated our birthdays and our baby moon. The hotel was lovely (a little tired in some places, and lacking in technology as we had a tv with basic cable and weird sound issues which is fine we only used it for news at night), food was delicious, staff was mostly great (some of the staff at the main building restaurant were slow and lacking in information about the food/policies/etc), pool is beautiful and so is beach, though it had eroded quite a bit since my last visit and I missed the beach chairs sitting along the beach as opposed to how they are set up in one specific area now. HOWEVER- we happened to overlap with a company retreat of about 40 people and I would advise anyone to double check that these retreats aren’t happening during your stay (bc a group of 40 is WAY different than 40 individuals or 20 couples). One day as my husband and I sat by the beach watching a beautiful sunset, we were surrounded by at least half of this group who had already been drinking during the day and then continued to drink at the beach bar, being extremely loud, and then doing rounds of shots. They then filtered over to the beach restaurant where many guests around me also complained of their noise and behavior. The next day the resort helped them set up and complete some sort of race that resulted in groups running around the island yelling, stopping at the beach bar to make MORE cocktails, and a private lunch right behind the pool with speeches, cheering, and more loud conversation. I love a good time and understand how these groups work, but when you come to parrot cay (and are footing your own bill as opposed to your company footing it) you come for the ambiance, the experience, the peace and quiet and relaxation, and understand what the guests around you are also looking for and are very respectful of that. We felt slightly betrayed by the resort in allowing such a group to come behave in such a way during the span of our stay. It was disappointing to have to plan our day attempting to avoid this group (though we couldn’t as the resort facilitated so much) and I would advise anyone looking for what we were looking for to make sure to avoid dates with big groups. Aside from this part of our trip (which I hate to even mention but I think it’s important learning for the resort and warning for other guests), we loved the experience, used the spa every day, enjoyed the food, and of course reveled in the beauty of the property. We will be back, just not with a company retreat... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Perfect Romantic Getaway!

Feb 24th, 2020

I had the pleasure of staying here over the recent President's Day long weekend, and used the opportunity to arrange a surprise sunset proposal to my girlfriend (now fiancee!) on Valentine's Day. Parrot Cay is its own island, a 30 minute boat ride from Providenciales (this is arranged by the resort for both arrival and departure, with black car transportation between Blue Haven Marina and the airport). It is the perfect place to get away from everyday hustle and bustle and truly indulge in Turks and Caicos's soft white sand beaches and sparkling blue waters. The resort is gorgeous and features 2 gourmet restaurants with menus that change everyday. The staff at COMO Parrot Cay are phenomenal and dedicated to making sure guests have an unforgettable experience. Nadia helped me arrange a guitarist and photographer for the big moment, and a specially tailored menu for our post-proposal private beach dinner. Things came together flawlessly and better than I even imagined! During our stay, my fiancee and I enjoyed an immaculate couples massage and a separate Ayurvedic treatment (complete with personal consult) at the Shambhala spa, and got to do some other fun things like walk the resort dog, Max, and plant a coconut tree at the resort's coconut plantation, which we are excited to see grow on future visits. My fiancee says our proposal was ethereal and like a fairy tale; it would not have been possible without the perfect combination of place and people that COMO Parrot Cay has! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
