Best in Sardinia, even in world standard!

Jan 1st, 2020

I was traveling alone and I picked this hotel because it's not far from airport and has private beach so I don't need a car. I knew it was a highly rated hotel but I was not sure but I didn't want to make mistake to try a lower rated one. But I was glad I chose this hotel that now I understand why it's rated the best. - - The hotel has a long history with famous & rich people came to visit. For stay or for events. - - The hotel has very well maintained to keep its top service. - - Staff was very friendly and they remember the guests - - I met many nice couples that they come every year to stay for more than 10 years. - - The hotel has a beautiful pink design, beautiful garden and a private beach. - - The food in the hotel was amazing. - - When I checked-in, they upgraded me to try the new designed room. I was in room 240. - - The room is simple but I like the simplicity. - - The balcony was very comfortable. - - The sunrise was an amazing scene. - - The whole hotel was so beautiful and I couldn't stop taking pics. - - The private beach was amazing, clear water, quiet and relaxing. - - I tried one time in the pool but it's sea water, I didn't like much. I travelled alone but I met many nice people in the hotel and we became friends. I decided to come back again every September so I can meet then again. Recommendations: - wake-up early around 5:30am to see the sunrise from the balcony. - ask for breakfast at the balcony. I enjoyed it more this way. - go to the private beach. - definitely stay more than a week to enjoy Only complaint I have is the Japanese restaurant is over-priced. I had been to a lot of high-end Japanese restaurants outside of Japan but it really 2-3 times the normal high-end price. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unique hotel with incredible food

Nov 28th, 2019

The website doesn’t do this hotel justice - in its beautiful architecture that superbly matches its location, the pool and the rooms. It is a unique one-of-a-kind hotel exquisitely designed hotel where no two rooms or areas are alike. It is not a ritz Carlton or Four Seasons resort factory in a concrete block. That can also bring some downsides too of other reviewers mention, rooms could do with some minor updating specifically in the bathrooms (shower heads, fixtures, toilets). Nonetheless, the beds are supremely comfortable, views gorgeous, and antiques real. Skip the resort factories... The pool is gigantic and the outside gym is a lovely touch. I wish more hotels had this feature. The private beach area is superb and underrated by many of the reviewers...particularly since almost all beaches on this stretch of coastline get super packed starting June and it is tough to get a decent spot (and very hot!). In fact many local beaches get so packed that it detracts from the absolute stunning nature and water. The local private beach is truly one of the main reasons why you would stay here - they are building a new beach club there which will only make it better! Lovely other beaches are just a short drive away too of course - location is perfect - and please don’t be an amateur and rent a car instead of paying outrageous taxi fares...and no Italian drivers aren’t that crazy just far better than the average American. For full disclosure as always, I stayed here on points from Marriott and paid 90 euros/head for half board. The quality of the food and restaurants make this an absolute steal. Plenty of reviews have been done about the food so I will not go into detail. All I can recommend is that we definitely enjoyed the dinner more than the lunch, and you can go “off menu” and order whatever you want (eg feel like a Grand Marnier soufflé?) The food is second to none and so is the service. Massimilliano is one of the best waiters I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with and a consummate professional. Italian service at its very best is the best in the world - affable and friendly yet extraordinarily efficient (rarer than great French, but far better). Finally though service is usually excellent, though can sometimes be surly. The waiters are most often amazing, however front desk staff can often be lacking until you threaten to escalate, and sometimes act like they are doing you a favor. Overall a fabulous spot, deserving of its recognition - am excited to see what the new renovations bring to the hotel, particularly for the rooms. However at this price (800 euros/nt+) I do not believe it offers great value - yes the area is expensive but apart from lovely beaches is a bit soul-less, hence the four stars. Everything is a price/quality/value equation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decadence And Opulence At Its Best

Nov 4th, 2019

Three days of absolute luxury and pampering. Not one negative aspect about this hotel. Seamless from start to finish and wish I could have stayed for two weeks. I throughly recommend coming here if you wish to relax in the most beautiful of surroundings and be throughly spoilt by this amazing hotel. We cannot wait to return and thank you so much for a memorable stay for all the right reasons. Perfection ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Staff, Decent hotel but Pricing is Wrong

Oct 14th, 2019

I very much enjoyed this hotel and I thought the staff were absolutely fantastic. I could not give any of the staff anything other than 5 stars. The word 'No' did not exist and they all did everything to make me feel very welcome. In my opinion the staff are carrying this hotel. My big issue with this hotel was the pricing of bar menu and food menu. You can not justify to me €15 for a Coke in Sardinia. I am sorry but this is taking advantage of wealthy clients. Top hotels in London or New York with far higher costs are nowhere near this pricing. And for me it is just wrong. You do not need to rip people off to make profit. I was noticing a lot of people in the hotel just not spending money like they should be. I have never been on holiday before and felt the pricing was wrong. I am sure the hotel will come out with some justification on these prices with a load of nonsense but reality is if they ask themselves the truth, is the pricing justified and fair, the answer will be no. Would they pay €15 for Coke or bottle of water in the boiling heat when on holiday with their family.... Again I felt all of the staff were fantastic from the concierge, bar staff, pool staff, cleaners and I can not thank the staff more. But the pricing is wrong. If the hotel reduces their pricing to more sensible then the clients will end up spending 2 or 3 times more and the hotel will make far more profit and guess what - will have happier and more satisfied customers. So it's a win win! I am sure I am not the first and certainly not the last to complain about the pricing and I wonder if the hotel will do anything... Thank you for my stay and I would go back to this hotel but for me to return the pricing of the drinks and food will need to be reduced. Otherwise there are many other luxury hotels on this planet! Well done to your staff! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
