Hotel in dire need of renewal, and serious management.

Apr 1st, 2019

Let me start with the good... One young lady by the name of Naomi who was courteous and tried to help. Then, here we go with the bad: 1. On two of the four nights, my room was not cleaned, nor the bed was made. On the third night, it was cleaned when I called...after 6 pm. 2. I ordered room service, and after finishing my meal, took the tray out to the hallway... it stayed there more than 24 hours. 3. The furniture in the rooms is old, and the water pressure in the bathroom is terrible. 4. Two members of my family were robbed at gunpoint, five feet from the lobby of the hotel, just outside the main door. Hotel security was non existent, employees went and hid behind a column, and management did not try to help at all. Their excuse was that it was "on the street, on public property". It was on the darn driveway of the hotel, right when they were standing like i said, five feet from the lobby. Will NEVER stay in that hotel again, and I recommend you look for other chains, like Marriott or Hilton, readily available. Westin also has a nice hotel nearby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not everything that looks is good !

Jan 23rd, 2019

I spent four nights at the Hotel for work. It has a good image and looks modern, but when you get to the rooms you start to know the secrets. In the headboard of the bed covered very well by the pillow you discover this beautiful hole as you can see in the photo.... Logical, in the evening when you get tired and as the room has little light, no one notices, but in the morning when you get the light of the windows there you find the surprises well kept!!! Also in this hotel if you are looking for hand towels forget it, in the 4 nights I was never placed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

In need of refurbishment

Dec 20th, 2018

When you first walk in, you think, oh this is quite nice. Then you look closer and start to discover all the little things that aren't right. The hotel is not aging well and is in need of major refurbishment. Furniture, closets and bathrooms have seen better days. Nothing is straight, it looks like a bunch of amateurs slapped the rooms together. For example, the drain in the shower is not at the lowest point of the floor, so you always end up with a puddle of water. Taps in the bathroom spray all over the place. We moved the couch and were obviously the first people to do so in a very long time: lots of dust and crumbs under it. The bed, at least, was very comfortable. The internet was decent too, in our room, but we heard comments from others who had trouble connecting, so I guess it depends on how close you are to the router. Room service was hit or miss. The area is safe, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, but it is predominantly offices, with only a few residential buildings, so at night and on weekends it is pretty dead (but depending on what you are looking for, that can be a good thing). If you want to go anywhere in CDMX, it will take you at least 40 minutes to an hour and a half to get there, because roads and traffic are pretty terrible. If you need to be in Santa Fe for work (like me) or other reasons, great, if you want to experience CDMX, I highly recommend staying somewhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The El Dorado Hotel , Santa Fe, New Mexico .

Nov 1st, 2018

I recently stayed at the El Dorado Hotel in Santa Fe and had a delightful experience. Before I even got there I received a text that I was expected and once I checked in I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff . As I was also about to celebrate a Birthday, they delivered a bottle of wine to the room, on the house and continued to accommodate me every which we I enquired . It is a very short walk away from the center of town, close to all the museums and restaurants and also has its own attractive restaurant and bar and an elegant Spa on its premises. Altogether a lovely experience ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I had poop and piss falling down the floor over my shower, while I was in the bathroom

Oct 24th, 2018

The worst place I have been in my life. It is supposed to be a nice hotel, but it is not. I was in the toilet when I heard something that fell over the shower. At the beginning, I thought it was dust. Sadly it was not that. What happened is that the pipes exploded and I had poop (literally excrement) and piss on my shower. The room started to have a terrible smell and it took like 2 hours to the hotel staff to decide to give me another room. I understand accidents happen, but what was totally unacceptable was the way the staff handled it. They offer apologies and a dinner or two cocktails on the sky bar. Sorry that I almost threw excrement over you, here you have some courtesy drinks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
