We spent a weekend here recently. The room was comfortable, we enjoyed the whirlpool, fireplace and view. We needed a few additional item that were brought to the cottage right away. The extras were nice! Little things like spa robes, umbrellas in the closet, personal care items in the bathroom etc made you feel cared for. When we arrived there were two cans of soda, two granola bars, water and yogurt waiting for us. The downside of the stay was dining. We were content to have diner in our room. We both had steak for dinner. It was fine. Our salads were not great, the nuts on my salad were not fresh, and dessert was an extra cost. Breakfast/lunch need to be ordered by 5pm the evening before and the earliest delivery is 8:30. We ordered an omelet, it was made with a liquid egg product and was mediocre. Also ordered the Greek vanilla yogurt with honey and got plain Greek yogurt with no honey. I wish you had the option to order some fresh baked goods, the only option is a $5 English muffin. It was a quiet relaxing stay in the woods, with LOTS of privacy/Covid precautions but don’t expect to be wowed by the food. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We just took a trip to Canoe Bay and had a wonderful and relaxing stay! With the pandemic currently still an issue, they had a great contactless check in and check out while still holding great communication with us via email and text. We ordered dinner from them that is delivered right to your door. The food was still warm when it was delivered and was all phenomenal. We had a vegetarian dish with mushrooms and ricotta stuffed shells. It was the perfect little getaway to relax and unwind! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wonderful Couples Getaway During COVID

My partner and I were looking for a cozy cabin to stay at during COVID, and this place exceeded our expectations! First, we were extremely impressed by the COVID friendly service. We never once had to directly interact with any employees, but still felt well taken care of. Staff were very responsive via text. We stayed in a Dream cabin and it was the perfect size for two people. The electronic fireplace, whirlpool bathtub, and picture window with a lake view were all highlights. Also, the peace and quiet!We ordered dinner the first night, which was delivered right to our door. The food (steak and potatoes, salad), was delicious and the portions were generous. This place is perfect for a couple looking for a clean, cozy, quiet, and charming weekend during quarantine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Diminished Experience During Covid Times

My husband and I have been coming to Canoe Bay about once a year for more than 10 years to celebrate special occasions. It is because of those many wonderful trips that this one was a disappointment. I suspect that Canoe Bay will be back to its former glory post-Covid, and in that case we will be back because it is wonderful. But in the meantime, I would consider postponing your trip. Canoe Bay is normally amazing because of its picturesque location, beautiful cabins, excellent and thoughtful service, and exceptional dining/food experiences. Canoe Bay is (usually) all about the little details that make it really stand-out. It is expensive, but the quality typically matches the price to make it worthy of a celebratory weekend away. The location and cabins are still lovely. The service is good, but it is not at its usual high-quality level (for example, mistakes made in our breakfast order). And the little touches were gone. Some of those touches were impacted by Covid, but many were not and I saw no reason they should have been absent. For example, Canoe Bay is famous for its delicious complimentary breakfast of homemade muffins, bread, fruit, teas and juices. Those were gone. You can still order an ala carte breakfast at a cost, but the usual complimentary items are not offered. Dinner is currently in-room dining only. I miss the dining room experience because it really is amazing, but I understood the change. I did not understand the limited dinner menu with the same handful of choices each night of our stay. The food was good, not great, and not really worth the price. And given that a service charge is added, the high cost isn’t making up for the added covid delivery service. Most important, the dinners were no-where near the usual great quality of Canoe Bay dinners. Also, desserts were pre-made, presumably not at Canoe Bay, and that meant minor change requests like requesting no chocolate ganache on a piece of cheesecake couldn’t be accommodated. The desserts were ok, but a far cry from the homemade desserts of the past. Gone were other touches like complimentary warm, homemade cookies delivered with lunch, or the classic Canoe Bay Trail Mix (which is so good they started to sell it years ago) waiting in your cabin when you arrive. I realize this sounds like the complaints of someone who is spoiled, but that’s just it- for years Canoe Bay DID spoil us. That’s kind of the point, to get spoiled over an anniversary or birthday weekend. And at this price point, I guess it’s what we’ve come to expect. I hope these changes are temporary. Assuming they are, I would recommend Canoe Bay again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great winter getaway!

My wife and I spent a couple nights in an Escape tiny house at Canoe Bay recently. The tiny house was awesome with many upgrades, big floor to ceiling windows and gas burning fireplace. We didn't even turn on the tv while there. Due to COVID, dining room was closed, but the staff was creative and supplied daily menus from which we could text in orders. Meals arrived promptly with a ring of our doorbell. Meals were reasonably priced and very good - they obviously focus on quality food here. The grounds are beautiful and we took a couple walks in the snow. No complaints - the staff was very responsive (via texting only) and pleasant. We will be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
