Gave away our balcony room for 20th anniversary

I booked a balcony room overlooking the ocean for our 20th wedding anniversary and was bitterly disappointed when we were given a pool view room with a slight view of the ocean through dirty windows. Management blamed my timeshare for booking the wrong room which apparently was not true. Gave away a reserved table at restaurant as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a great location and stay. Only one night but you can’t beat the view and locale right across the street from the beach. Really loved Jose in the Chandler on property restaurant that let us try several different wines and even taught us a few new things. Would love to come back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lost Items / Customer Service

I stayed at the Cape Rey in June 2020. After paying $900 for a suite, I was charged near $30 extra on top of my original bill for a drink tab that I never made. When called in to discuss, they push me off because the manager is not present. My room had dog hair on the couch and ottoman. The only reason that I am pushed to write a bad review is because I left my dress shirt in my room and have yet to hear back from customer service. I realized right away that I left the shirt in the closet and notified them right away. I am assuming that the shirt was thrown away because it had CASH in the shirt pocket. The shirt was sentimental to me and can’t figure out how it magically disappeared after describing the exact item Shortly after leaving it there. I cannot Recommend this hotel as the staff is difficult to communicate with and near impossible to get ahold over unless you are booking a new room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful customer service

Unfortunately we had to cancel our travel plans as COVID was just starting to wreak havoc in the US at that time. I had several conversations with staff at this resort regarding cancelling, COVID and Non-COVID questions. The professionalism is impeccable. I feel respected as a guest and will be happy to repay the kindness and grace with future business. Special thanks to Ken for handling our issues. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our Honeymoon

So we got married on March 14, 2020, and arrived here the next day, in the midst of covid19, 2020. At first, the bar and restaurant were open, which was nice, but then they were ordered to close, which was a bummer, but we had a fridge and a microwave. The staff went out of their way to make up for the fact that most of the amenities were unavailable to us. While we were able to have room service, it was amazing. They accommodated us in every way that we asked. Danni brought our breakfast each morning that we were able to get room service. Stacey made amazing drinks, Andy helped us bring our groceries up, and surprised us with ice cream, champagne and wine. Ken O'Reilly is the general manager and he did an awesome job of listening to our frustrations trying to fix them, and all the while, keeping the morale of his staff up. We already plan on having a second try at our honeymoon here! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
