A very memorable stay

Mar 21st, 2020

This review was long overdue! But as they say, better late than never! :) This was our first long trip with our 3 year old. We had apprehensions and worries. But it all vanished thanks to the wonderful hospitality we received at the hotel. The staff was kind, attentive and very very helpful. We loved everything there really. And now when Italy is going through such suffering I hope all the wonderful people we met there are doing OK. 💕 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable and clean

Mar 7th, 2020

Stayed two nights and enjoyed a large airy room, very high ceiling, quiet at night and clean bathroom. Excellent breakfast in a side room of the magnificent central court area. Helpful staff at reception and allowed a late checkout at no extra charge. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Grand but jaded

Mar 6th, 2020

This palazzo must have been something very special in its day. The only wow factor today is the very impressive central court where today you eat breakfast and dinner. Rooms are tired but fine for a nights stay. Location is on the wrong side of town. Spend a little more and stay near the marina. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Didn't quiet do it for us

Mar 1st, 2020

Impressive building but lacking some atmosphere and not in a great location. We had a smart quiet courtyard view room. Reception staff had a lot of personality but 4 of the five breakfast team stood at a empty end of the restaurant chatting whilst the 5th ran around serving coffees and clearing tables! Good, but not quite perfect

Feb 29th, 2020

This is a great hotel, located on the edge of the old city and only a short walk from the Cathedral. The converted palazzo has been tastefully converted into a hotel with the restaurant and bar lounge area occupying the two courtyards. I had a room on the 2nd floor, towards the back of the hotel, which was very quiet - despite overlooking the courtyard with the restaurant in it. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was equally quite large with a nice rainfall shower which had good water pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly in the bar. So why not 5 out of 5? Well there were a couple of little minor things that take the shine off: The WiFi to my corner of the hotel failed at some point on the penultimate afternoon of my stay - it was still there, but the local access point was refusing connections - walk down the corridor and the next access point worked perfectly but back in the room and access denied again. I reported this to the hotel but nothing was done, so there was no internet access at all (the design of the palazzo meant there was only intermittent 4G mobile signals) for the last night of my stay. On the final morning (a Sunday) the Breakfast area had less space set-up than had been on previous days and the consequenlty the area was struggling to cope with guests wanting breakfast. On all other days - even when busy - you were able to get a table straight away and the food was being replenished regularly, but on the Sunday the team were clearly struggling with waits for food to be replenished and a reduced choice in what there was. All in all, a good hotel that could be perfect with a little more attention to detail from the management. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
