Napa Covid Get Away
Aug 15th, 2020
We were very excited to get away for a night away in Napa Valley during Covid and picked this place because of the outdoor tub and fire. Unfortunately the service has been terrible. Our first basic request was for ice - it took 40 minutes and three calls. We were told they thought it was appropriate to bring the ice with our lunch which we ordered much later. Then we ordered room service dinner and called to check on it after an hour passed. We were told “I’m just putting in your order as my manager doesn’t typically answer the phones”. You can can see online what it costs to stay here. Their service is comically bad. Don’t waste your hard earned money as we did. There are So many better options in Napa Valley. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We have not been anywhere since Christmas vacation (due to COVID) and decided to do a long weekend get away at Carneros. What an amazing treat. Felt badly about leaving kids so opted for a family cottage which was amazing, luxurious, and rejuvenated the soul. Everything was super clean, very comfortable, and felt like a get away. Staff very friendly and helpful. My kids shower did not drain quickly and water accumulated. We did not want anyone in our room so told the hotel upon leaving. All else was luxurious and it was SO NICE TO BE TOGETHER. We rented bikes during the day, lounged by the pool, read books, played games, hung out in the hot tub, etc and most importantly felt like we got away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Very disappointed long time guest
Jul 21st, 2020
I am a long time Carneros guest and have stayed at this property on visits to Napa since 2006. This is the first time I have been so disappointed with a visit. If this was because of the reopening then I’d say Carneros was not prepared and should have taken more steps to ensure proper cleanliness before reopening. Especially during these pandemic periods for its guests. Our stay was two nights in a suite consisting of two connecting cottages with our family of two small kids. Upon arrival the entry and patio areas were full of cobwebs that we had to dodge. This also was consistent in the patio area and open air shower. We had to open windows due to the stuffy musty smell in the rooms. We came prepared with disinfectant to wipe down the space prior to our children entering but these observances made us spend additional time in this process. Not something you should have to do for a property asking $1000 per night. It has been 2 years since my last visit and I did notice the wear and deterioration of our cottage with some dry rot around the window sills and back patio gates. The cleanliness and attention to details were drastically lacking during this visit. On our second evening the fire alarm inside one of our rooms went off in the middle of the night scaring our kids. We called the front desk and they sent over a maintenance person to our room after 25 minutes of loud beeping only to find the maintenance person had a step ladder to reach a fire alarm at the top of a 12ft-15ft high ceiling. I didn’t want her to leave for an additional period to get a taller ladder so I assisted her with a skillful maneuver to remove the fire alarm from the wall. Not what I wanted to be doing nor should be doing at 12am in the morning at a self proclaimed 5-star property. Probably not something foreseeable unless they have regular system checks(which they should) but it was icing on the miserable cake. My main issue on that evening was the fact that no one called to apologize or even follow up. I went to the front desk to check out the next morning and had to mention it to the staff before getting any acknowledgement of our issues. Immediately she knew about the event and presented an excuse. She extended a reduction of $100 from the bill. For me this was an attempt at accepting some responsibility but a poor one. I have enjoyed this property over the years and have recommended it to clients and friends but have hesitation of recommendations after this visit. A guest should never feel duped or bamboozled after spending those nightly rates for a stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at Carneros Resort the first week of July for two nights and had a wonderful time. We were worried about the trip because of some of the reviews we read on this site, but our worries were unfounded. There was no issues with cleanliness in our cottage and we were pleased with the precautions the resort took with all their employees and guests. To be fair, this was our first time leaving our house in 5 months, and we didn't leave our cottage the entire time, but we had no issues, from check-in to in cottage dining to the service overall. There were some slight delays in room service - but that's to be expected given that everyone is ordering to their rooms - nothing out of the ordinary post-Covid, and we received all our meals within 30-40 minutes of ordering. Housekeeping came during our stay, but we didn't want anyone else in our cottage so they dropped off a full set of towels. We were even able to order "to go" from Farm, which was a nice treat as well. Overall great trip and can't wait to go back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Luxurious escape to Napa Valley
Jun 28th, 2020
We had been anticipating this escape from San Francisco for many weeks while sheltering in place. The property was beautiful, scenic, and well tended. Our two- bedroom residence was perfectly clean. Resort staff observed social distancing, and for the most part, so did the guests. Yet we enjoyed the resort ambiance in the public areas, many of which were outdoors based. We were able to have food delivered to our suite/residence without difficulty after checking menus online and then calling in room dining. Front desk staff were harder to reach by phone— they often seemed busy but were courteous in person. It was an expensive getaway, but worth it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
