Excellent Hotel and Services!!!

Jun 23rd, 2019

I just spent 5 nights at the Casablanca. I was traveling with my Aunt and wanted her to have a special first-time trip to NYC. The Casablanca did not disappoint. First, prior to even arriving at the hotel, Brian Castro provided a ton of information to help us plan for our trip. He also allowed us to select from a variety of services, such as arranged transportation, refrigerator in the room, foam toppers and foam pillows for the bed, makeup mirror and so much more! He knew that I wanted this to be a special trip....and when we opened the door to our suite, a bottle of wine and glasses treated us. After we had unloaded our luggage, we went back to the desk and throughout our entire trip, had excellent assistance from Johan at the desk. He helped us set up the Big Bus Tour, made recommendations on where to eat, showed us maps of how to get there and more. He was truly exceptional as well! It was a delight to see him at the front desk each of the five nights that we were there. We took advantage of the morning breakfast, which was light, but everything was neatly arranged and served with such kindness. We even used this second floor dining area to bring back food and sat at the tables available to have a nice lunch. And our room, we had booked a suite room, which was nice to have the extra size. We had one room with two double beds, another room like a living room and then the bathroom. Was perfect to meet our needs. If I ever get a chance to come back to NYC, I would not even consider staying anywhere else but the Casablanca!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ritz prices and Motel6 rooms and that might be an insult to Motel6

Jun 23rd, 2019

We booked this place because of the excellent reviews. How wrong them reviews were. This place is overrated. - rooms conditions like earliest 1930’s. - Dark tiny cold and very noisy room, thank goodness to my sleeping pill, or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep!! - No coffee maker neither a fridge in the room, this means if you want your morning coffee, you have to put your clothes on, and venture down to the overcrowded breakfast room (POS The ladies there were very nice especially Maria). - No heat in the bathroom - Weak internet The prices were very high, and the hotel didn’t live up to expectations. With all of the options in New York, there are much better places for less money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location & accommodations. It was Central to everything we needed in the Broadway Theater District. The decor was beautiful. The Complimentary amenities were perfect. All in all it was great for our stay in NYC. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

BEST HOTEL IN NYC

Jun 21st, 2019

Casablanca is the best hotel in NYC. I have stayed in many hotels in Manhattan, and we keep going back here. It is in a great location, right in the heart of Times Square, but very quiet and intimate. Breakfast is included, as is wine and cheese every evening, and a piano player on Friday nights. It is a hidden gem in Times Square. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pros and Cons from Frequent NYC Visitors

Jun 21st, 2019

Pros include breakfast, happy hour, knowledgeable front desk employees, and cleanliness. Cons include dated decor, small rooms, slow and BUMPY elevators, frosted windows, loud air conditioner, resort fee, and no notification for early check-in. It's a little too far south for most of the theaters. We also didn't like the fact that they demanded payment up front, months in advance, with Expedia. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
