Well, if yr new in town and its rules, u should know that the owner is.. well deep downstairs, nobody tells you about it when you book it. So u get to find him. Anyways, it was a nice man and looked like he was care about. For the place. It has 3 front doors, guess the inner is same. ... It smells with oldy and dirt. Not in the way u can cape, but just for a knowledge. 3 floors, each have a bathroom combined, on the 3rd u have kitchen with some supplies like microwave and toster. Rooms has quite enough space even for two for that price. Wi-Fi is good when u out of yr room on 3rd and lower. Lower is much better. Oh, and cleaning... No such a thing. I came to not cleaned apartment at all. After a 9 days (coincidence with new clients) it was cleaned with the smell of bleach. The showerS are with fungus, so just be careful. Pros: 2 blocks from the subway, 2 avenues to the Central Park. Lots of grossery and convinient stores around. Cons: landlord doesn't care. If it (household) would be cleaned properly, it would be a candy. Got the feeling "all booked" was a.... well, not true. Saw 3 persons in 2 weeks . Let's just think we didn't met. Anyways, overall impression is ok. I'd recommend for people who don't care so much about their comfort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay away from this place

Bugs and hair everywhere. Garbage and mice in the rooms. So disgusting and dirty. Gas smell in the rooms make you dizzy. Not secure against intruders at all. Anyone can easily break in your room any time. People who run this place are so incomponent. They took our money for 8 nights in advance. We gave up staying there when we saw the room, but they did not refund us. Nonetheless, we switched to another place because it was so unbearable. Do not waste your money. Put some more on it and stay in a decent place instead of ruining your holiday having to deal with deceitful people and a disgusting place. (PS. This is the first time I post an online comment- this place and its people made me feel the urge to share) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Cheap room comes with bugs and dirt
Sep 20th, 2016
We stayed there in September. The thing I can say about this hostel is that, it is extremely dirty. There are walking bugs everywhere and also you can see dead bugs on the floor all the time. The building smells bad. We paid 45 dollars per night-per person and this is the cheapest you can get in Nyc. The neighborhood is considered okay, we didn't have any bad situations and the hostel is on subway line 6 - 3 minutes walking distance from 103th street station. There is also a bus available to go to downtown just like line 6. The owners are father and daughter. The father was rude, he kept knocking the door in the morning claiming that we didn't pay the money even tough we paid. However, the daughter Sabrina was very helpful. After we saw the dirt, we talked with her about it and she made sure that the cleaning lady cleaned our rooms. However, the cleaning standarts are very low but we managed to stay there for a week despite the fact that there were still few bugs. She was so kind and even helped us to arrange a cab to go to the airport. What I suggest: if it is your first time in Nyc like my friends, as they told me, this can be dissapointing since it is not reflecting the real spirit of the city. If you do not want to spend lots of money and you don't care about the dirt, it is the perfect place. Dispite what is written on the internet, bring your hair own hair dryer because in our room there wasn't any and also bring your own towel, they didn't seem that much clean. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
worst day ever
Dec 5th, 2015
been sleeping on the lobby because there is no front desk inside the building, there is one on a lower level but nobody was there. Our plane to NYC was delayed, but we sent them an e-mail 2 days prior to us getting there and they insisted they didn't get none, that's bull...whatever,we got there at 1 am is was night, rain was pouring and cold outside,we got in the building aprox. 1 hour after we got in front of the hostel or whatever they call themselves because the front door was locked. We managed to get in after a very cool guy, extremely cool guy, woke up opened the front door and let us in,he then gave us his ipad just to watch some movies till the morning and to cut it short he just helped us out when we most needed it (brother if you're reading this one day, still thank you for what you did for us)...basicly it was the same temperature in the rooms with the one outside,in october, also a window was broken, fixed with duct tape, and the duct tape had a hole in it too...one thing is for sure,I don't know who rated this with something over 1 star but trust me on this, don't ruin you vacation choosing something that's cheaper just to save you some money....choose something mid-priced and do your reaserch prior to making the reservation. One thing I've noticed in general in NYC,the rooms don't look like what's in the photos. Also about the location....yes it is near to central park, but yes it is in an mexican area of nyc so late nights watch out. (just shut up,I'm telling it as it is) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
