Seriously expensive, but worth it

Apr 12th, 2019

Let me guess: You are thinking about forking out a bucket full of cash for this place, so you’ll want to know that you aren’t being ripped off, and there aren’t that many reviews or photos. So a few thoughts from my recent 3-day visit. Spoiler alter - it’s absolutely worth it. Firstly; the photos don’t show how magical this place is. They don’t show the vastness of this incredibly well-designed and private resort. There’s been no expense spared on the architecture and landscape design. It’s a member of “Luxury Hotels of the World” and it’s clear from the moment you arrive through two large wooden gates why. There’s about 32 casitas (private lodges) which are less than about 18 months old and they’re luxurious and well-equipped. They’ve thought of everything from the speaker system in the ceiling (controlled by an iPad), to the large glass windows around the casitas which back onto thick vegetation and the outside shower (there’s also an inside shower). They provide bikes that are helpful to get around the resort. The spa is an unbelievable experience (the best I’ve had anywhere in the world by a mile) and there’s a restaurant serving vegan, vegetarian and gluten free foods. There’s also another fine dining restaurant (Ixi’im). We used this place as a base to relax mid-way though our vacation, although there’s an archaeological site an hours drive away (we didn’t really want to leave the resort). There’s so many nice touches, from the fresh coffee delivered in the morning to wake-up (before breakfast), to the fresh tea and cakes provided at 5pm in the main house. Finally, and without exception all the staff are very friendly and helpful (we are two guys travelling together), they absolutely made this a trip which we will fondly remember for a very long time. Wedding night

Apr 3rd, 2019

This hotel is just as magical as you can imagine. My husband and I stayed here to spend 2 nights after our wedding. Everyone working at the hotel (from the director of the hotel Rocco, to one of our many kind waiters Juan) makes every single part of your stay perfect. The hotel is amazing (the decoration, the landscape, the spaces), the restaurants and food in general is to die for, the spa is INCREDIBLE, the attention to detail is just beyond words. Worth every penny and more. This should be marked as the BEST HOTEL in Yucatán without a doubt. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb resort!

Mar 31st, 2019

We spent four days at Chable' after an extended art trip in Texas. Chable' is perfection in every respect: beautiful grounds; lovely casitas with private pools; delightful staff; excellent food (especially in the Ixi'Im restaurant); serenity; tropical birds singing all the time; and a good staging point for day tours to Merida and to the Mayan ruins, e.g., Uxmal, etc. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Anniversary Minimoon

Mar 31st, 2019

When our 5 year anniversary was coming up, I knew I wanted to do something memorable. I knew that a week long trip was out of the question due to work so I started looking for short weekend relaxing and romantic destinations. I came across Chablé after looking for boutiques hotels in Yucatan or near Merida. After seeing pictures of the hotel, read articles of the Architecture awards they had won and all the history behind this property, I knew this was THE PLACE. I booked immediately and waited impatiently for the checkin day. From the moment we arrived to the property gates, we knew this was a one of a kind place. The hotel is set on a large property so there are plenty of vegetation to feel connected to nature. The private chalets (rooms) come with a private pool, integrated sound system, 2 bathrooms (indoor and outdoor) and luxury amenities. Breakfast is included in the room rate and so is an “eye opener” treat at 7am and afternoon healthy snack. We got a couple’s massage and were lucky to experience it in their signature couple’s cenote spa room. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. We enjoyed the tasting menu from Ixi’im restaurant on property (home to the largest tequila collection). Before going to Chablé I had a hard time finding reviews and now I see why... you have to experience it cause there are no words to describe this amazing property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfection - Historic hacienda reinvented as idyllic romantic retreat

Mar 30th, 2019

Chable Resort is perhaps the finest overall resort we have ever experienced...and we've been fortunate enough to stay at many of the world's best. This modern and sexy resort has been lovingly carved out of the remnants of a magnificent plantation hacienda. New marble, wood limestone and glass buildings are integrated into the stone walls and remains of the plantation. The resort accommodations are each spectacular individual casitas featuring outdoor plunge pools. Ours had a massive terrace, oversized bedroom, and luxurious bathroom with 3 showers (double shower indoor and outdoor shower). The casita was surrounded with lush tropical plants and the winding pathway to our paradise has a privacy rope that you hang across the walkway to experience total privacy and create a dream-like romantic oasis. The rooms are outfitted with every luxury including iPads with Spotify to manage the great sound system in the casita. Every element is top quality and oversized in keeping with the hacienda's origins. The spa at Chable is magnificent. The wide variety of available treatments include local Mayan rituals. The therapists are expertly trained and bilingual. Be sure to experience the spa's aqua therapy (free to guests) with multiple plunge pools, steam bath, sauna and floating salt baths. Bicycles are readily available to explore the massive resort and dozens of daily activities (yoga, meditation, tours) are included. Brilliantly the spa and elegant restaurant each restrict guests to those over 16, ensuring a screaming kid free experience. We experienced each of Chable's 3 restaurants during our 4 night stay. The chef is a genius and restaurants feature a combination of Mexican, continental and healthy spa options. Massive on site gardens grow most of the vegetables, fruit and spices used at the resort. Virtually every ingredient is made on site or sourced from local artisanal producers. Options are abundant, breakfast for example offers dozens on juice and smoothie options and a crazy assortment of pastries, breads and condiments as well as abundant main dishes. We found all staff to be impeccably trained, warm and hospitable. As should be the case for a property of this quality, Chable is premium priced but we found it to deliver excellent value. We are hard pressed to identify flaws. The casual daytime restaurant seems to play nothing but annoying cover versions of pop tunes and your daily stay includes free daily ironing of only 2 items per day. We flew to Merida and arrived at Chable with friends on a recommendation, not sure what to expect. We leave besotted with this unique Mexican paradise, committed to returning and recommending it to others. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
