Perfect!!

Jul 10th, 2020

We had previously planned to stay in Denver on our vacation, but didn’t realize there had been riots there that had destroyed both the capital building and a large portion of the shops and restaurants on the 16th Street Mall. Hard Rock Cafe was one of our scheduled stops, but had every window smashed and was boarded up and closed like many, many others. It was heartbreaking. We felt a safer and more relaxed atmosphere was necessary, so we traveled to Colorado Springs. We felt so fortunate to have found Cheyenne Mountain Resort! It’s just beautiful and the staff is warm and welcoming. There aren’t housekeeping services during your stay, to protect the staff in the wake of the pandemic, but they still make sure you are well taken care of. Fresh towels, coffee, etc are delivered almost immediately and dirty linens and trash are picked up outside your door. Each room has a balcony, and we were given a choice of views which were breathtaking! Deer roamed freely in the area and we watched a family of rabbits playing in the early morning hours. The mountains reflect off of the pond where you can canoe, paddleboat or kayak, which is included in the price. There are also a lot of sights to see and things to do in the area. It had a bumpy start, but thanks to Cheyenne Mountain Resort, it turned out perfectly! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful mountain view!

Jul 9th, 2020

We wanted a clean, comfortable room with a private balcony facing the mountains. We were in the Clear Creek Lodge so our view included the lake, the golf course, AND the mountains. The bathroom was quite spacious and the room was clean. The King bed was comfortable. My only complaint is not with the hotel, but due to COVID. We had hoped for room service, but due to COVID, the food service was greatly limited. We ended up going out for curbside service at local restaurants. BTW, our dinner from the "Mason Jar" included grilled trout and it was delicious. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not A 4 Star Hotel

Jul 8th, 2020

Based on the pictures, I had high hopes for this resort. The check in went smoothly and our room was nice, except bathrooms are very small and no microwave..would have been an extra fee. The patio on the other had was filthy so we had to wipe everything down and sweep away dead bugs and cobwebs. Then the issues started. Called for new towels, and they never showed up. Called again and they brought 1 washcloth. Next day, same thing, had to all multiple times to get towels, coffee, cups...etc. Everday it was a joke to see what we asked for and what they would actually bring. Since it was the 4th of July weekend, there were many large rowdy groups drinking heavily and leaving trash everywhere. Not a family friendly atmosphere. The people above us had a dog barking constantly so security had to be called...fixed hours later. Housekeeping dumped something of a balcony above us and it splashed all over me. On the 4th we couldn't get into the aquatic center because we didn't have reservations. Nowhere did it say that and the hotel did not mention that either. For the prices and resort fees paid I had much higher expectations. Would never stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Resort was great; customer service was the worst I’ve seen.

Jul 8th, 2020

I gave it 2 stars because the resort itself is cool, there is lots of pools and things to do and on that front it was great. Where this resort lacked was customer service. Everyone, except one guy who was at the pool restocking towels, was rude and unhelpful. Before I even arrived there the service was bad, I called 8 times to try to receive a confirmation email so I knew how much I was being charged, which was ridiculous. We also wanted to utilize the discount on their website for an adventure, and called 4 times and no one ever answered until the night before our trip and by then it was too late. While we were there, the front desk staff were rude and condescending and clearly did not want to be there. We also called 3 times and talked to 2 people in person to try to get a light fixed and was assured every time someone was gonna be out there to fix it. And there were many more tiny incidents where the service was just strikingly bad. Overall if you are going and don’t plan to talk to anyone but at initial check in you’ll have a great time, but if you are looking to have good customer service I would recommend going somewhere else. Very Disapointed This Time Around

Jul 7th, 2020

Unfortunately, I think this resort is going downhill and not up to the high standards it use to be. We have stayed here several times, but this time many things have changed. Our balcony overlooked the building next to us and there were cracks and pieces coming apart, it was not a good view. Online and everywhere it states to wear masks in public areas and outdoor if social distancing you did not have to wear one. Maybe 50% did not adhere to this, that was disappointing. If some are going to follow rules, then all should otherwise it defeats the purpose . Also the main restaurant is closed due to it being mostly a buffet, then shouldn't they change it to not buffet? On Mon/Tues no way to eat breakfast or lunch unless room service but that is minimal and they charge a delivery fee which with no other option why charge delivery fee. There is a restaurant at the Golf Course but only Wed-Sun. The bar in the lobby opens at 3:00pm. The pool was suppose to be cleaned in between reservations but when we went it wasn't. The organization on where to watch Fireworks was terrible, many staff said we can watch from the patios since our balcony was facing another building but when we went to watch there a gentleman said we could not because they didn't want too many people so they weren't letting anyone. They need to communicate better. All in all, my kids were dissapointed and my husband and I were as well and we may spend the extra money next time to just stay at the Broadmoor, sad that our era of going to a smaller resort is ending.
