Great location and accommodations

Jan 23rd, 2020

I love the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. The atmosphere is great and the employees are very accommodating. The Library is an inviting place to have drinks and conversation. The food in the Cherry Circle Room is delicious. Cindy's is fun. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The only place I'll ever stay in Chicago

Jan 23rd, 2020

What an amazing spot. From the lobby – which feels like the New York Public Library – to the detailed beauty of each room, to the great service, I loved my stay at the Chicago Athletic Association. I believe it used to be an all-male club, and it has that mahogany/fireplace-y/cozy feel throughout, but without the stuffiness. The entire staff here is so friendly and helpful. The beds are incredibly comfy and the building itself is a treat to stay in given the pristine upkeep of its age. It's also got multiple bars that I'd have gone out of my way to try out had I been staying elsewhere in Chicago – but they're an elevator ride away (the game room downstairs and Cindy's on the roof). I plan to make this my go-to Chicago hotel whether for pleasure or for business. Oh and one more note: I got upgraded to the Millennium Suite because all of their standard rooms were booked. What a way to make a girl feel like a queen in a place that used to be men only :). Photo attached is of gigantic, beautiful old windows looking over Millennium Park. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best hotel experience I've ever had. Thank you, Dave!

Jan 22nd, 2020

Hands down the best hotel experience I've ever had- from start to finish. The entire staff, but especially Dave, the bellhop, went far beyond any expectations I ever had. Truly a relaxing and luxurious experience in the best location in Chicago. I cannot wait to come back. Although I arrived hours before official check-in, the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable while I waited for my room. Dave provided me a tour of the facilities, offered to help with any dinner reservations, offered to set me up in another room while I waited. All this wonderful service before I had officially checked in! Throughout the weekend, the staff continued to make us feel at home. Dave wrote me a handwritten welcome letter. I cannot remember the last time anyone wrote me a handwritten note. They remembered our names and greeted us each time. They helped us with last minute, Saturday night Cindy's Rooftop reservations. They checked in with me each day to make sure everything was going smoothly. I am so impressed by the customer service! And do not even get me started on the rooms-- to die for. You can stay at a modern, sleek hotel anywhere. The Chicago Athletic Association isn't just a hotel. It is an experience. We had a double suite and the founders suite. Both were enormous and gorgeously appointed. The sheets were fabulous. The beds were exceptional. The showers were large and steamy with great bath products. The founders suite had 2 fireplaces! 2! Our rooms were so toasty and beautiful, we never wanted to leave! We ended up canceling most of our activities and just staying in the hotel most of the weekend! As far as dining options, Cindy's is wonderful for the view and people watching. The food was okay, but the atmosphere was great. The Cherry Circle Room might not have the view, but the food was unbelievably good. You must try the pork belly for breakfast. Yum. Lastly, the location of the hotel is unbeatable. You are next to all the tourist attractions (Michigan Ave, The Bean, Art Institute), while also near helpful places like Walgreens and Target. Thank you, Chicago Athletic Association-- and especially Dave-- for an unforgettable weekend! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
