Providence hospitality at its best

Aug 12th, 2019

The Christopher Dodge House provides a welcoming, comfortable home base for visitors to the Providence area. Tucked away behind the State Capitol, the historic building feels homey in all the right ways. The staff are longterm Rhode Islanders who are down-to-earth and friendly. The breakfast spread is varied and delicious, including homemade breads in addition to a rotating menu of yummy omelettes and waffles. We stayed in the room at the top of the house, which requires going up and down multiple flights of stairs. Folks with join problems will want to stay on a lower floor, but we appreciated the stair workout, which allowed us to work off some of the caloric load from the excellent breakfasts. If you can't stand the sound of highway traffic, you might not want to make a stop at the Christopher Dodge House. But we are on the sensitive end of the sound spectrum and quickly adjusted to the noise level because we loved the place so much. The only suggestion we would have for management is to refresh the pillows and the mattress. But even this is just a friendly suggestion. We would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely B&B

Jul 9th, 2019

This is a lovely old building just outside the main part of town but within easy walking distance of all the main sites. We found the welcome to be very warm and accommodating and our room was very large and comfortable, however one downside is that the building backs onto the main I95 freeway and the traffic noise can be rather loud. The free cake and cookies along with coffee and tea in the comfortable sitting room was very welcome TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very welcoming stay

Jun 24th, 2019

We were warmly welcomed. The host toured us around the bed and breakfast and invited to have homemade cookies and snacks in the common room. Breakfast the next morning was very good with everything we could want including juice ,pastries, and a specially prepared breakfast. The next morning we had an early departure and they packed a breakfast for us and put it in the refrigeraor in our room. The wifi was very good. The bed was very comfortable. It was in walking distance to the downtown area. We had fun visiting the state capitol, walking the river walk, toured Brown University, and even got a tour of the federal court house. I can not say enough good things about our stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming B&B - Great Location

Jun 8th, 2019

Very nice experience in a strategic location. Within walking distance of many Providence points of interest including the State Capital and the large enclosed Providence Place Mall. Convenient parking. Friendly and tasty breakfast service. Bedroom was quite roomy with wonderful bed linens and a private bath. The Inn had several quiet sitting areas in addition to the main eating area. We visited over the Memorial Day Weekend, so prices were slightly above mid-range. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming comfortable bed & breakfast. Centrally located, great parking area, walking distance to many places

Charming comfortable bed & breakfast. Centrally located, great parking area, walking distance to many places. This was a gift while we were in town to see a play at the preforming arts center. Wonderful experience, for our first visit to Providence, RI. The owners of the Inn were gracious and so very welcoming. We will certainly keep this in mind if we return to RI. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
