Great location

Lovely clean room, good beds and great location in walking distance from city centre. Option breakfast in a bag great idea. Bus stop from airport in front of hotel. Rooms small but very practical and nice modern decor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The very best in no frills

Mar 20th, 2020

Great location -- big rooms -- good WiFi - breakfast just fine. This is a low cost, no frills hotel that does everything just right for the price --- and the airport bus is at the door. The only suggestion would be a few more hangers and perhaps a lick of paint here and there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The staff make this hotel what it is!

The staff made my stay even more enjoyable, particularly Wasif and Shelagh, they were both amazing and really helpful and they went out of their way to help me. The room was great and there were no shortcommings. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

For a no-frills hotel, there's no disliking it.....

Mar 5th, 2020

The location of this hotel is pretty well right in the heart of the city, and considering the price of the room, nothing short of amazing for a city like Edinburgh. The entrance is through automatic doors with your room key while the unattended place itself consists of a lift, stairs and the rooms - it's a bit like one of those Masterchef episodes where someone does something dead basic but does it well and gets excellent feedback, and this is what this place is all about. Decided to upgrade the booking to a superior double and I'm so glad I did as there was a window in the room and that plus the extra footage made all the difference to it being less like a cell, although if all you want it for is a bed and a sleep, that wouldn't make a difference, if you get my drift. The bed was comfy, with no extraneous noise, inside or out, and as basic goes, you can't fault it - but then neither can you say it was "special" - but that's hardly the point...... Nothing to dislike, as such - the check in is on the main drag, but the hotel entrance is round the corner. The people at the check in and check out were friendly enough, but for the few seconds you see anyone in this place, staff opinion is barely an issue. Nothing to do with the hotel, but what I would advise, is that, if you are coming by car, fer chrissakes sort out some parking before you get here, coz right now, driving around Edinburgh is a joke - with so many roadworks, road closures, one way systems, building works and more, even my sat-nav didn't stand a chance - as a driving experience, right now Edinburgh is a complete embarrassment. Worst "Hotel" ever

Feb 28th, 2020

Firstly whoever took the pictures for this hotel needs a bafta awarded to them, it is the flithest kip I've seen. Now before booking I explained on the booking form and even rang that my daughter who is 8 is disabled. She is also autistic and has severe sensory processing disorder which means with loud noises she experieces a great deal of pain. However doesn't everyone deserve a break away? So the staff seemingly so so nice assured me they will place us in the quietest room they had, oh it sounded fantastic. WRONG. We checked in, first stage of my red mist descending was The manager whoever she was saying to my daughter "can you hear me with those things on?" (My daughter wears ear defenders to cut out noise) then laugh's.. yeah would you say that to someone with another disability? But to avoid upsetting my daughter who is already self conscious I avoid giving the manager a bol**ING. Then we went to the room. Cinderella had better headquarters. It was a mess. They obviously stuck us in some hovel that time forgot cause we were seen as needy second class citizens. Then I don't know who we were next to in the other room but they were smashing things and roaring and shouting. My daughter broke down and was in a lot of pain with the noise so I went to reception and asked could we have another room. I got a grunt and a shrug and some noise. So I said what about a suite I'll pay the difference. The guy said to me I can't help you. I said my daughter was in distress and in pain I needed help, again no help. This was a 1am now. She was so tired so enough was enough she cried and screamed that she wanted to go home which I totally understood. I had to book a another hotel at the airport and another flight home 3 days earlier than expected. I had to get my little girl into a taxi in the early hours of the morning crying with a taxi driver trying to comfort us while the useless jobs worth behind the desk did nothing to help us and I mean nothing. This firstly is a breach of care because my daughter has now took unwell because of all this. She did not sleep til we got home which was more than 30 hours later. I got a refund for 3 days, big deal. This is not over by any means. I was assured this will be looked into so if it's not then I'll be looking into it for you cityroomz. You were pre warned about our circumstances and if you couldn't accommodate us then fair enough but to mislead us then watch on as I had to go out in the night with a sick little girl then that is completely unacceptable. So look into it or believe me I will and I'm ready to in an instant. Parent's don't stay here if your little one has needs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
