Very disappointing.....

Feb 1st, 2020

When I travel, I like to look for a hotel with a hot tub. After a long day of travel, it's the best way to rejuvenate. According to its website, this hotel has a hot tub, and it does technically. It was closed when I got there and didn't even have water in it. It wasn't opening soon. Ok, whatever. So I go back to my room and grab the ice bucket. The ice machine is just down the hall. I get there, it's broken. Call the front desk - they have three and they are all broken. No ice on the property. It's undergoing renovation so there's dust everywhere and they clearly hadn't gotten to my room yet - there were holes in the curtains, old smelly carpet and plugs were so worn your cord would fall out. Not recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Terrible hotel

Nov 19th, 2019

Choice Hotels should be ashamed to have their names associated with this location. Hard to find the right place to begin describing this location. First, very difficult to find as their signage is poor. Street into hotel and hotel parking lot very poorly lit. The desk chair in the room had the vinyl material peeling off of it. The stuffed chair was so dirty that Goodwill may not have accepted it. Both closet doors were off their rails so it was difficult to use. For $200 there was no microwave or small refrigerator in the room. Cold water in the bathroom sink barely ran at all. At some time in the distant past somehow the shower surround had been deeply cracked with no attempt to repair. By the way, we arrived at night, but when daylight came the outside of the building was no better - broken concrete and peeling paint. STAY AWAY!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disappointing...old and tired

Nov 8th, 2019

While close to the freeway, this place has seen better days. The carpets are thin and stained. The rooms are outdated and the beds are droopy and uncomfortable. The whole place is in need of an update and overhaul. The shining bright spot here was the staff. They were very pleasant and accommodating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not Impressed

Oct 27th, 2019

First of all we checked in about 9pm so it was dark outside. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and we got a room, no issues. The hotel is older and out of date. Many thing were broke (including our toilet seat) and needed replaced. Would have had better water pressure from a water hose than the shower head. We left about 9 am and was able to see the outside. We probably wouldn't have gotten a room if we had seen it in daylight as the grass/weeds were grown up around the building and it looked abandoned. The best part was the gentleman that checked us in. Old and Tired Hotel

Oct 17th, 2019

Overpriced, old, tired, no bar and no restaurant make this a less than desirable place to stay. While location is close to Iowa City there are much less expensive and modern places to stay. I would not even consider staying here again. I checked out after one night and went another hotel in Coralville. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
