Good location in Pierre - able to walk to State Capitol

Governor Noem sent out the invitation to visit South Dakota, so we did. This hotel is in a good location in Pierre. The staff were helpful. A lot of hunters stay here for pheasant hunting. The room was great and had the comforts we needed. There is an Italian restaurant adjacent to the hotel that is excellent. Breakfast was hampered by COVID, but they did there best to put out a variety of eats. Would stay here again on next visit to Pierre. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Rude front desk staff

The employee at check in was rude, and not friendly at all. She needs to work on her customer service skills. Did not feel welcomed at all and won't stay here again. Also pool was supposed to be open until 11, but she told us she needed to sanitize it at 10 so she was closing it. Which is fine if the rules changed due to Covid but her tone was extremely rude, and again, we didn't feel welcomed here at all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Best place to stay in Pierre

When going to Pierre for leisure or business travel, you can't go wrong with the Clubhouse. The rooms are large and comfortable. The pool is great for the kids, the breakfast goes well beyond the typical continental offerings and the outdoor courtyard is an excellent place to gather when its nice out. My latest trip was to attend a conference, but we've stayed here while traveling with family. It really is the nicest place to stay in Pierre and Fort Pierre. The fact that this is connected to Red Rossa is an added benefit. You will be happy you stayed here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Awesome Stay

We spend 2 nights here and we had a great time!!!!! The hotel is VERY nice and clean! The hotel is very comfy feeling with a big fireplace and lounge in the lobby. The rooms are awesome and huge! The staff is very friendly. We ate at the on-site Italian restaurant and really liked it! Great hotel in a very small, quiet town! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Nice stay, but communication could have been better

Our family really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is conveniently located to the state Capitol. We thought the breakfast was excellent even during Covid. We would give it four stars instead of five, because of the pool/hot tub situation. Upon checking in, we weren’t given any information regarding the pool. After getting to our room, the kids changed into swimsuits and we headed down. We then found out we needed a separate card to access the pool. We sent our oldest to the front desk while we waited with our younger kids. The person at the front desk told our kid that an adult had to come inquire about the pool. I went to the front desk and was informed I had to sign in to use it and could only stay there 90 minutes. Once we finally got into the pool area, we found out the hot tub was broken. This was disappointing since we specifically chose a hotel with a hot tub. Overall, it was a good stay and we would probably return, but they should keep their policies/closures updated on their website and inform guest about how to utilize pool upon check-in.
