Overview

Affordable rates for a New York City hotel
Visitors cite small standard rooms and lackluster staff

Overlooking the 9/11 Memorial from its seat near ground zero in lower Manhattan, the World Center Hotel treats guests to an exceptional location for considerably low prices. The hotel is also a popular pick for business travelers, thanks to its location near the Financial District. For most visitors, it's the hotel's reasonable room rates that turn them into repeat customers, though others commend the property on its extra touches, such as complimentary high-speed internet, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, Keurig coffe makers, free loaner iPads and free bottled water stations on every floor. But in terms of decor, this hotel is fairly nondescript, with guest rooms wearing little more than the occasional pop of blue (most guests don't mind this, however, since they spent most of their time looking out the window). You can also find fantastic views from the rooftop restaurant, the View of the World Terrace Club; previous visitors say that the food is worth tasting, though they wish there were more options to choose from. Another thing travelers said could use some improvement: the staff.
