Thanksgiving Dinner

Feb 21st, 2020

We decided to try something different for Thanksgiving dinner and went to Coco Reef. The menu was good and so was the food. The wait staff were very friendly but the service was a little slow. We will try again when there isn't a special occasion going on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Perfect Break from Winter

Jan 19th, 2020

We loved our stay at Coco Reef Resort, although it is more of a hotel than a resort. The ocean view was fantastic and instantly relaxing. We walked on the beach every day. Located in central Bermuda, it was a 5 minute trip to Hamilton and 20-25 minutes to either end of the island (by scooter). There is a restaurant, a supermarket, and a bus stop within a 5-10 minute walk so you are not dependent on taxis, or rentals to explore the island. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms comfortable. Restaurant meals were first rate and were as good or better than any other restaurant that we visited. There were very few guests during our stay so it was quiet and we had no issues with the WIFI. The downside is that the hotel could stand an update. There was also a US$43 per day resort fee that wasn't mentioned anywhere on their website. Oops! Overall, Coco Reef is an excellent place to stay while visiting Bermuda and is a great place to relax and forget your troubles. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Relaxing Break

Dec 22nd, 2019

10 day stay, second time in two years. I really enjoy the Coco Reef which I find to be very laid back and civilized. Resort is a bit of a misnomer as it is really a basic hotel without a lot of ancillary facilities for kids and families. Its basic charm for me is its spectacular beach side location ideal for a quiet and relaxing stay. The hotel restaurant is first rate with a tremendous ocean view and good menu choices. Both times I stayed in one of the beach side rooms, and despite the steep climb to the reception area and the restaurant, I would not think about staying in any of the other rooms. While the room appointments are very dated they suit the purpose especially as housekeeping and cleanliness is immaculate. All staff by the way were professional and helpful. The hotel is a short walk to the main road and bus routes as well as only a few minute cab ride into Hamilton. Last but not least the price is an absolute bargain for what you get compared to other hotels in Bermuda. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cockroaches

Nov 8th, 2019

We had COCKROACHES in our room. The solution from the hotel was a maintenance man with a can of bug spray, and when he sprayed the sliding glass door 5 more cockroaches fell out, causing me to run screaming and cut my leg on the coffee table. The bug spray (aka poison in a can) gave me a horrible headache. There was a cockroach in my overnight bag. After killing it in the bag, I had to throw away about $500 in personal belongings because it had cockroach guts everywhere. After 5 phone calls to the front desk and being told repeatedly that they were at full capacity so they couldn’t move our room, we checked out of the hotel. At 1am we arrived to our new location, where we had to pay $958 for our last two nights of vacation. We made multiple phone calls and emails to the General Manager of Coco Reef requesting that we be refunded for our stay with them. They removed a portion of the bill, but it ended up costing us more than our original bill due to the money we had to spend at the new hotel for the last two nights. Our 30th Anniversary trip was ruined. We ended up spending more money than we had planned, lost personal belongings, a leg injury, and horrible memories. We should have been reimbursed for the entire room charge. This horrendous vacation should not have ended up costing us more than originally planned. So disappointed in Coco Reef. Sch a surprising place.

Nov 6th, 2019

We were advised by a native to book here. It is a little quirky and funky, locally owned. We loved it! great bar, outside dining and within steps up the beach of several really good restaurants. I would recommend for couples, probably not family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
