Having visited Coco Reef for 7 years and realising that our repeat visits were mainly down to our amazing friend Eric Feniet and his very capable staff, imagine our shock on hearing of Eric's untimely and unsavoury dismissal when trying to book for this year. There's no doubt in our minds that Eric was the Coco Reef! What an amazing and thoughtful host, nothing escaped his notice and he and his staff tried their utmost, every single day, to ensure you had the best time ever! Believe me when I say we did. What hard times for the global travel industry at the moment, what a huge error of judgement to dismiss the one person who could have pulled Coco Reef up by the bootlaces to resume it's former glory once travel and tourism is up and running again after this terrible pandemic as we, like many others will not be returning. We have visited Coco Reef for over 17 years. The glue that held the hotel,( literally), together was Mr Eric Feniet. Year on year, we noticed that the hotel had declined more. The building was painted but no one attended to the fabric of the building. We realised we were not getting value for our money but loved the location of the hotel and the consistent bonhomie of Eric. Eric never wavered in giving his all amidst adverse conditions. It was plain to see that he put his heart and soul into running the Coco Reef. His tenacity is to be admired. We always wondered why the owner never invested in this hotel yet had opened new ones in other locations. The hotel was just being left to decay while still charging its guests top prices. I hope that Eric is being treated well - he deserves a medal for battling against all odds. Many people have met Eric and the world is a small place. It transpired he started his first job in a hotel a few miles from where we live in the UK. We all leave a footprint and Eric has certainly left his - dedication and service to his customers. History is irreversible. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Coco Reef - Flying Home For Christmas
Jun 26th, 2020
Home for Christmas- exactly how I came to view Coco Reef during the three wonderful consecutive Christmases myself and my partner, Nigel Amon, enjoyed there. I will never forget my first glimpse of its beautiful and welcoming Christmas lights. The reason Coco Reef became a home from home for us at Christmas was solely due to the wonderful manager Mr Eric Feniet for whom the saying “You arrive as guests and leave as friends” could have been written. Aside from the excellent and faultless service provided and the delightful Christmas festivities organised by Mr Feniet and his team, it was the personal and heartfelt gestures from Mr Feniet which meant so very much to us. We were therefore shocked and greatly saddened (not to mention extremely perplexed) to hear his invaluable services of some 25 years had been so callously and unfathomably dispensed with. We look forward to following Mr Feniet’s future career and to visiting him at his next resort on which he will undoubtedly bestow his magic touch. Without Mr Feniet, Coco Reef is no longer our home from home. Thank you Eric for the precious memories. Rosalyn Walsh TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Coco Reef shock..
Jun 18th, 2020
Coco Reef Tobago, what a beautiful hotel, i have been going to coco reef sometimes twice a year since 2008. I have travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels, but nothing comes close to coco reef. What has brought me back year after year, the lovely ambience of this hotel, the beautiful location and it's uniqueness, the staff who are very attentive, but most of all The Manager Eric Feniet who has made mine and my late husband's stay so wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, in the latter years when my husband was ill Eric made every provision to ensure that his stay was as wonderful as it could be, which it was. Eric's professionalism kindness and good nature is outstanding, with all of his customers and i am sure all you repeat customers will agree without him it would be a poorer place to be. I returned last December after the death of my husband Bernie, knowing how hard it was for me to return without him he made my stay very pleasant, so warm and welcoming, and for the very first time since i lost my Bernie i smiled i laughed and we shared many stories about him, he even dedicated an evening to Bernie, it was wonderful made me feel so proud. There was even a photograph on the wall of my room. Eric just got it so right and for that i will always be thankful to him. i am shocked and saddened and discusted to hear that of Eric's dismise, Coco Reef is not Coco Reef without Eric Feniet this i know. Mr and Mrs Jefferies should you be reading this post, after 25 years of loyal service and the respect he has gained from staff and customers i have to tell you that i am appauled at the treatment of Eric. This is really poor and i urge you to rethink your decision. I regret that i will not be returning to coco reef again, i cannot support this terrible decision, think about what you have lost and all of the repeat customers which is not just a handful but a lot of customers some who also visit twice or even three times a year who will also not be returning to coco reef. Heartbreaking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Coco Reef has been a huge part of our lives for the past 15yr, the staff have watched our little boy grow from being a baby onwards with each yearly visit, sometimes twice a year. It has been such a special part of our lives that we chose to get married here 2yr ago and Eric and Tracey and all involved couldn’t have done a better job. The hotel itself is a little tired in places but this also adds to its Caribbean charm... the lagoon is fabulous for snorkelling and swimming, so calm and peaceful and fantastic for children. I do however have to say that we won’t be returning to coco reef after discovering Eric Feniet is no longer at his post. The relationship we have built up over the many years of visiting is a big part of our holiday, Eric ensures that that is exactly what we had - a holiday. Nothing was to much trouble and always with a smile. All I can say is good luck coco reef, you’ve got some job on your hands to find anyone as dedicated as Eric. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
