Cost cutting by owner putting guests at risk

Jun 22nd, 2020

The positives were that the people at front desk were friendly & the room clean. Beyond that not alot positive to say. The elevator worked sporadically & we & other guests thought we were getting stuck on it,as several times it didn't move or door didn't open. Has this elevator been inspected recently ?, theres no way it doesn't need to be repaired or replaced. When i mentioned this to front desk, i got the shrug & what do you want me to do about it look. Next electric in room was problematical-hair dryer didn't work right & something got tripped so the light inside the door stayed on. I asked several times for it to be shut off or fixed, but all I got was an offer to change rooms. the young man at the front desk tried to remove the bulbs to no avail. The maintenance man , if there even is one ,was never on site or available, & the young man wanted to put something over the light-fire hazard. He tried to re set the breakers , but still didn't fix the problem with the light. Wiring in this room wasn't to code & wired coffee maker through a hole in closet wall into the closet where it was on a strip of outlets, also not safe or up to code. AC worked ok, control wasnt working right. The shower water pressure was awful and the hardware wasn't working well at all, water faucet itself was loose & felt like it was going to come out of the wall. Again, all i got when mentioned was, maintenance man isnt available.& shrugged shoulders if there's an emergency on site like a burst pipe, toilet backup etc, theres no maintenance man available & no one site capable of handling repairs , what happens ? thats poor planning and bad business. The water in the breakfast room had a nasty taste & made me wonder if potable at all. Had to go by bottled water & other things because of this. When we checked in,only one card available for 3 of us, because allegedly they had run out or were short, were told later by another employee they had plenty in back, but owner was just trying to cut costs. While I understand being economical & thrifty, i don't understand half ass electrical & plumbing work & people who don't want to spend money to keep their guests safe & protected. While the rate was reasonable, the lousy customer service & unsafe conditions in my room & perhaps others made it so i will not be returning to the dump, you call a motel. Unfortunately this type of owner has become more prevalent in smaller chain hotels, they are cheap & don't want to spend money to keep up the establishment, as common sense & business sense indicates they should TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Delightful Surprise

Mar 21st, 2020

I have stayed in many Comfort Inns while travelling. This one was updated, modern, clean, comfortable bed, and amenities. For $72, it was great value for the money. The coffee in the breakfast room was not the greatest, but the breakfast room was modern and attractive. I would recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Over night stay

Nov 23rd, 2019

My wife and I stopped at this hotel because it’s close to I95 and they have pet friendly rooms. We were very happy to find a friendly staff running a very clean hotel. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. Because we were traveling we got up early to leave and was treated to breakfast food ready before normal time. The food was good and the coffee perfect The price of this hotel is cheaper than most we have stayed at and we found value in the stay. I have saved this place as a favorite along our route and will be staying again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stay here quite frequently as we travel this area for our vehicle transport business. Never disappointed. Rooms are always clean and smell nice. Super comfy beds and absolutely love the pillows. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Will continue to be our choice of hotel in this area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My phone was stolen by an employee

Oct 1st, 2019

The first room we were given smelled like pet urine and the doors were damaged. We were moved to another room and the woman working at the front desk was helpful with the situation. When we left the next day I forgot my phone that was sitting on a chair beside the bed. I didn’t realize this until later that day. I called the hotel and the man that answered the phone was not in the mood to talk. He claimed the room we stayed in was being rented by the same person for the past three nights (that was a lie) so there was no way to check for my phone. When I told him that’s not possible since we had stayed in there he said there was nothing he could do and hung up on me. I called two days later since we were passing back through the area and the man that answered the phone said nothing was found. He didn’t even put me on hold to check if that was true, he just said housekeeping didn’t find anything and hung up. So obviously my phone was stolen by an employee and whoever works at the desk during the day could care less and doesn’t belong in customer service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
