Avoid at any cost

Mar 21st, 2020

We stayed one night because of the free shuttle service and proximity to the airport. What a mistake. The room was OK even though the aircon wasn't working, breakfast OK but extremely limited, but OK for one night. The big gripe was the thuggish mafia type threat made when we tried to leave. When we arrived we were hassled about car hire or taxi. Bad enough, but worse was to follow. I booked an Uber to take us to the next hotel. We went outside to wait for the Uber only to be told by Comfort Inns employee that we were not allowed to use Uber and if we tried there would be trouble, instead we had to use their taxi even though it was three times the Uber price. As a couple in our 70s it was a very frightening experience being threatened. We did manage to get a small discount much to the annoyance of the driver who drove like a madman. When we got to the next hotel he took our bags out of the boot and drove off. As he did so I realised my camera and lenses were still in the taxi. I phoned Comfort Inn streight away telling them my camera and lenses were still in the taxi. Was told to phone back in a few minutes. I did this only to be told my camera was not in the taxi and I must have left it somewhere else. This was a complete lie, in effect the driver I was forced to use by Comfort Inn, had stolen it. This hotel is to be avoided at all cost as it seems they are happy to employ thieves, thugs and con merchants. I just wish we had slept overnight at the airport, it would have saved me losing £900 of photographic equipment. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Avoid this Hotel

Terrible experience. Their rooms are noisy throughout the night from the business next door. Their breakfast is virtually inedible. Their hotel shuttle does not take one to the airport. They have a deal with an on-site shuttle that overcharges terribly. The bathroom was not well maintained, with missing grout and disconnected lights. No nearby restaurants. A definite rip-off. You get what you pay for

Room was clean and spacious but bathroom really needs an upgrade. Breakfast was terrible yogurt and some fruits bread I asked waiter to toast it for us he never did, coffee and tea not even hot. parking lot is a nightmare to try to get out it's so narrow you have to be a really good driver not to dent the car. We only stayed one night and that was enough. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Scam

This hotel is running a scam, they fleece tourist by harassing them for tours and charming them for shuttle rides. There is no breakfast, the coffee machine is always out of service and the charge you extra for everything. Worse it's their toe up with taxi cabs who harass Uber drivers and do not let them come anywhere near the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dripping shower water; no crib/infant bed, no free drinking hot/cold water

Jan 4th, 2020

My family of 5 including an infant were intending to stay for 6 nights. We cut it to 2 nights because the shower was literally a drip, the faucet was also like a hose pipe with no pressure. This was room 301. So we checked with reception but they said they cannot do anything. There was no access to an infant crib, so the night was not that great. Also, we needed hot water for baby milk, but they did not allow us access to get the hot water; they did provide a mini kettle which helped but not fully ideal. Any hotel that does not provide drinking water free is not for me. Cancun City Express did provide that, so we an only compare. The external view is to the busy road. The A/c was excellent and the floors were really tidy though. Plenty of cupboard space and drawers - this was a plus! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
