Horrible Run DONT STAY HERE
Sep 6th, 2020
We booked our trip after calling to see what requirements we needed to meet due to Covid-19. We were satisfied what we heard and came to NY. They had no towels after day one. We had to go purchase towels to take a shower. We were told we needed to let them know the night before if we needed clean towels. While housekeeping was cleaning room next to us we asked for towels she said had to get from front desk. We went to front desk they said we need to order night before. We had just checked in at 10:20 pm the night before and was not told we needed to order towels. We put old towels outside our door as instructed and was given back 1 dry towel. No face towel no hand towels and there is 2 of us. We asked again and was told they are totally out of face towels. How does a hotel run out of towels? Checked to make sure shuttle would take us to airport. Was told no problem took our room number name and time of flight. As we went out for the day stopped to verify and was told shuttle doesn’t start till 7 am we need to leave at 4:30 am...... I’ve never had such a horrible experience at a hotel before wish I could give a negative rating like below zero!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Buyer Beware of the Bad Practices of This Staff!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! The service at this hotel is horrible. a) The hotel will charge your credit card before your even arrive for your reservation and do it multiple times. b) The hotel will not honor the room type that you have reserved and then not give you a refund, c) The hotel will not inform you that they do not provide cleaning service due to COVID or some other reason, and d) The hotel will not tell you that they will provide a parking space for you even though the website says parking is available. The front desk staff is so rude and when you ask for a Manager, be prepared for her to hide behind a desk and not show her face. RUDE ALL AROUND. And the rooms are supposed to be all non smoking - they are not. This place is horrible. And, then when you have called them out on all of the items that they have not honored - they call the police to have the guest escorted off the property. Beware of this place. It does not deserve your money. This place is downright disgusting!!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
If you like graveyards and rude staff, this is the place for you!

I was surprised when I found this hotel for cheap so close to the city. When we arrived I found out why; its right across the street from a cemetery. The tombstones are so close you can read them while enjoying a cigarette in the parking lot. The hotel itself is in good condition, I didn't feel like cleanliness was ever an issue while staying here. Their breakfast isn't that good but there's a dunkin dounts and mcdonalds within walking distance. Free shuttle service that is apparently run by the owner's family is always late, so we just ubered to the subway station. This one night the guy who was driving the shuttle service rudely scolded a customer for not being outside when he got there. Then another night a whole group of us were waiting for the shuttle and I even saw the guy pull in to a parking spot and about 20 minutes later he left without any announcement. If there were to be any delays it should have been made known to us while your staff clearly saw us waiting in the lobby. This failure in communication resulted in us losing time on an already short trip. Another failure in communication I would like to address is your GM Kristy. On the day of checkout we packed our belongings and one of my friends found that he was missing a shirt. We checked our belongings multiple times and still the shirt was nowhere to be found. My friend went to the front desk to ask them to check the laundry room, in case the shirt got mixed up with used bed sheets. That is a completely possible scenario but not one your gm took seriously. She tried to make it seem like my friend was accusing them of the missing shirt, and became defensive and condescending. I was staying here on an employee rate, so after this interaction Kristy called my general manager in Virginia and told her that I made a scene in the lobby and was almost removed by the police. She stated that my friend identified himself as me but he only said my name because the room was under my name. Another false claim she made about me was that I smoked in the room, based solely on the presence of empty cigarette packs in the trash can. So I was about to be charged a smoking fee for putting trash in the trash can. After receiving a heated call from my general manager, I called the hotel and talked to Kristy herself, who would not even let me finish a sentence and was yelling over me the whole time. She reported me so I would not be sent a survey, but good thing you can't block me from writing on tripadvisor :) If it wasn't for lack of customer service skills and terrible breakfast, I might have given this place a 3.5. I must say, however, the lady who checked me in was very pleasant and brought some life to this melancholy establishment. She should get a raise and Kristy's job. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Good hotel if you need to be near LaGuardia.

My family and I just stayed at this hotel for a last minute trip to New York. As you can imagine - location, cost and safety were a priority. From my first encounter over the phone until checkout, I was very pleased with my experience. The facility’s clean and modern. The bathroom was tight but nice. The bedroom was clean with two full size beds - microwave and refrigerator. The lobby is nice and they even decorated for Halloween! Breakfast was - Ok - eggs, link sausages, breads, cereal...I’ve had better variety but it was free - can’t knock that. However, the human element was the best part. I loved the check in agent - Niki. So pleasant and helpful. By watching her interact with the other customers, I could tell, it’s who she is - Excellent customer service 😊. The shuttle drivers were great too - in particular one agent whose name I didn’t get but he mentioned he was from Puerto Rico. Such a people guy. He made the ride to the airport that much better. I’ve seen a few negative reviews but I’m not sure why. If you’re looking for a clean, safe place to lay your head, this is it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Very quiet but you Get what you pay for....

Came in early from cruise ship (metred cab is cheaper than flat rate). Niki at the front desk was very welcoming and gave us lots of great advise. Even offered us breakfast and coffee because we were so early. Our room wasn't ready and we were told we could not check in yet so we left luggage in back room. Jamie the shuttle driver was so friendly and gave us history of area as we drove to subway. My mom has a walker and he was so accommodating and dropped us right off at the subway elevator. Great service and compassion! Spent day in New York and then shuttle came to pick us up at allocated spot. Different shuttle driver who had lots of space to pull into the sidewalk to pick us up but he chose to park out in traffic and motioned to us to come to the shuttle. He didn't even get out. I loaded up the walker and my mom had to walk quickly out to the street and get in. Terrible service!!! We got back to hotel around 9pm for checkin. I asked to be on 4th floor overlooking cemetery for the view but they told me they were fully booked and couldn't move my room. They told me that we should have checked in when we arrived that morning which I advised I was told the opposite. Eventually the one girl found us a room 408. Thank you! Beautiful view. It was quiet even though right across from elevator but it smelled terrible of moth balls. I had to wash all of my clothes when I got home to get the smell out. Comfy beds, lots of pillows. Couple of hairs on bathroom floor so not immaculately clean. Definately a 3 star hotel. It is dated and worn but the price was right for being so close to Manhattan. Beware the cleaning staff start vacuuming in hallway at 9am. Ive never experienced this before in a hotel. Also following day after the maid came in the same hair was on the floor still, coffee maker was not cleaned out (dirty coffee pod), coffee not replenished, ice bucket not cleaned out. Lemon water in the lobby seemed to always be empty. Breakfast was never fully stocked. Always out of syrup for the waffles (yummy by the way). Coffee machine in lobby always being serviced and no decaf. You get what you pay for. But it wasn't the worst place either. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
