Not as impressed as I used to be here.

Dec 2nd, 2019

Stayed in room 102 in October, nice room, totally wiped out in the very slippery shower, the morning employee told me there was shark grit in tub, there wasn't. When I stayed in 422 in Nov. I told an employee there was a very loud hum in the hall between the bathroom and refrigerator, she said it was probably the heater in the hall. Never offered another room. When I told the same girl the washer spin cycle didn't seem to be working (had to do two dry cycles for a small load), she didn't even bother to look up from her phone. Maybe I'll stay at the Holiday Inn down the street next time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Worst customer service

Oct 15th, 2019

I had a last minute business trip, and I’m a diamond elite member with choice hotels. So I ended up booking at this property. Long story short, they double authorized my card and had over $200 tied up. Brought it up to management they were rude and were not helpful at all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Refurb Hotel with Mildew Smell but Great Location

Oct 6th, 2019

We visited the Springfield Antique Extravaganza and felt lucky to find a reasonably-priced hotel in the Springfield area. The hotel offered a free breakfast bar, which was very nice although all the fruit was way past its edible stages. The lobby was very nice, and although the desk clerk was a little weird and led us down a bizarre conversation path that started with a comment about my friend's Gator hat to her transgender friend only dressing in his/her college colors every day of the year to her fingernails, check-in was mostly uneventful. The hotel is also located across the parking lot from a Cracker Barrel, which was very nice after a day of traveling and walking. Other restaurants seemed to be within a short drive of the hotel, too. The room itself had a wonderful king-sized bed with great bedding and nice toiletries. The only problem is that when we arrived on a very hot (mid-90s) day, the air conditioning was barely on, and when we walked into the room, the horrible smell of mildew hit us in a wave. Rather than return to the desk to discuss the issue with the weird front desk clerk, we cranked the AC and fan and headed out to dinner. When we returned, we were still greeted by the mildew smell, but it wasn't nearly as bad. It became one of the situations in which you get used to it and only notice when you leave and return to the room, such as for ice or breakfast. If the hotel didn't seem to be incredibly full, if our room hadn't been conveniently located on the first floor, and if the desk clerk weren't so weird, we might have asked for another room. If we return to this hotel when we visit the Spring antique show, we will try to get to the hotel closer to 3 p.m. and check out the room before settling in -- just in case this one room is not the only room with the mildew smell situation. Very Affordable Stay For a Saturday Night

Sep 30th, 2019

Rode our bikes to Springfield OH from Loveland, OH and chose Comfort Suites for our overnight stay. With the help of a AAA card we were able to secure a $99 rate which is quite reasonable for a Saturday night. Our room was clean and comfortable. Springfield seems to be not so much a destination as a convenient stop when traveling. There are a decent amount of fast food and more midscale restaurants from which to choose. I would suggest Station 1 as a good place to start as well as the Brewery district. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Do not stay here

Sep 25th, 2019

I have been traveling for over 30 yrs. This is the most exceptionally worst overnight stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. The room had several issues. 1) The AC was malfunctioning. 2) The TV had no signal. 3) Carpet was stained and frayed. 4) Bathroom mirror was framed in peeling black duck tape, corroded with dust. 5) Shower rod mounting failing 6) Mold in tub 7) holes in walls. 8) Shower squealed at a piercing level 9) Shower tub felt as though I would fall through the floor- I weigh 115 lbs. 10) ironing bored was dirty and covered in wax crayon marks, rendering it unusable 11)The pool walls and steps had unidentifiable brown growth w/ chipped tile and the pool area was dusty, dirty- unsanitary. I requested another room and was moved to that, with a snarky remark from the hotel receptionist. In the middle of the night the front desk receptionist called me twice, then 10 minutes later she was banging on my door. She said she couldn’t figure out her computer error and needed to confirm that I was in that room. She not once said I am sorry to awaken you or disturb you. I asked, couldn’t this wait until the morning and she said quote- not if you don’t want someone entering your room. This scarred me, as a single femal traveler. I got dressed, packed my belongings, went to the receptionist and asked for a refund. I would find another hotel.. it is late in the evening at this point. Her response was quote: you can leave, but you ain’t getting your money back. That was followed by, quote: I never should’a changed your room. Really? When i asked for the managers name as listed on the plaque on the wall she mocked me, saying that was a males name and went on. What???. After being harrassed for several minutes i went back to my pathetic, tired, outdated hotel room. I went down to the receptionist at 5 am the following morning to check out. This, a different receptionist could not provide me with a receipt for my payment. Additionally she told me quote: There aint nothing in that travel baggie(complimentary travel brown bag that included a bottle of water, food bar and mint) Why do you offer this to your guests I asked. No response. I filled my coffee mug and left. Burnt coffee. Yuk. Worst experience in over 30 yrs. of traveling with overnight stays. Cannot recommend, only to say that there are several hotels 50 yards away. Some more cost efficient than others(all of which I have stayed at, albiet at different locations) Spend the extra $25 OR spend $25 less and still, it will be a far better experience. On a final note, the receptionist should be spoken to by management if not fired. I am happy to provide her name. Please contact me. Respectfully, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
