Lovely location, hotel excellent

Feb 26th, 2020

We stayed here for five nights, returning last Monday. I agree totally with many of the comments re the buffet. The choice and quality is not 5 star, but this is often the case with all inclusive hotels abroad (I have found). Re previous comments about having to pay for drinks, although being on an 'all-inclusive' stay. This is normally always the case, even on cruise ships, with premium drinks being extra. This was well documented in the lounge area, so should be no nasty surprises. As this was out of season, the majority of the other restaurants were not available, but I had read previous posts and was aware of this. The room we had was lovely. Patio straight out to the swimming pool area, and the room had excellent facilities. Cleaned too, to a high standard every day. Service in the main lounge (and balcony outside) was first class. Olga, Tamara, Adrian, Antal and David made our stay welcoming and we felt very well 'looked after'. Service in the buffet area was excellent too. The weather was warm enough to have breakfast on the terrace area a couple of days, which made quite a different, as the buffet hall can be quite noisy. A lovely break, great location and facilities. Would we return. Definitely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent staff, lovely room and a relaxing holiday.

Feb 23rd, 2020

Having read some other reviews of holidays here in February I can understand people’s disappointment that some amenities are not available particularly for children at half term.....however we have been here before and fully appreciate our excellent room and the very hardworking staff.... in the main lounge particularly. Tony seems to be an excellent manager, supporting and encouraging his staff and Olga, David, Sebastian and the others work non stop to keep the customers happy, whilst still having a few minutes to chat on occasion. Our main issue has been the buffet ..again, the staff are great, very helpful and fast serving drinks. However, as is usual with a lot of buffets, the food soon chills down. The quality and flavour is excellent, but it is served in very large trays...surely, if the food was served in smaller trays and filled up more often it would be much more likely to retain its heat? Coral bay does not have a lot of entertainment, but Paphos is 20 minutes away by the frequent bus service. Loads of cafes, bars..a big shopping centre on the outskirts with a cinema and great walks along the coastal path. In Coral Bay walks along the bay, or into the village are pleasant and apart from one wet day the weather has been very sunny and warm. So once again we have enjoyed our stay in Paphos, greatly enhanced by the lovely, hardworking staff at the Coral Beach Hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location, poor services, amenities and attitude of staff

Feb 23rd, 2020

A 4 star hotel at best, how they can mislead people with 5 star plus status should be questioned, poor amenities, charging for drinks in all inclusive, cockroaches in the bedroom, not a great hotel. The location is good but the pool was used by local scuba divers doing training, gummy bears music was blasting out at aqua aerobics and the kids use the main pool as their pool is too small, so the pool was chaos. Staff at the bars are rude, abrupt and really do not treat you as valued guests, food was good!! You will have to pay for most of your alcoholic drinks on all inclusive and only can use 2 out of the 6 restaurants, the rest you have to pay for! I could not recommend this hotel, everything is old and tired and the management continually state this is just "Cypriot decor" which is a cop out for not making the effort to improve things to a reasonable standard. Staff ruined my travel bag when it was in their lobby area waiting for departure, by writing on the bag a code for storage which show the level of attitude at the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Shame about the food.

Feb 22nd, 2020

Once upon a time this was a five star hotel, and bits of it still are. However, the bits that are not sadly let it down. The whole place needs updating as it is firmly stuck in the 1990's. The staff are all lovely with perhaps the exception being found in one of the receptionists. The big down point for us was the food. If it was just bland and boring it would not be too bad, but bland, boring and cold is just not good enough. Sort out the catering, spruce up the place a bit and this could be a five star hotel again. But it is a long way from five stars right now. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Relaxing holiday

Feb 21st, 2020

I arrived with my husband last 2 weeks of February to enjoy a week in the sun. Thankfully the sun came out because of it hadn't of we'd have been stuck for things to do. Our tour operator hadnt told us that during low season that the hotel ran at reduced service with many features that were advertised, simply not available to us. Our rooms were clean and tidy, although the single beds pushed together to create a double wasn't very functional as they tended to separate. It would have also been helpful to have a small drying area for swimming items to dry. The food was amazing each night and the waiters were very attentive. Adrian the waiter was very friendly and helped us feel settled at the bar on our very first night. Both my husband and I felt the spa was a little dated Rooms: the room was kept very clean and tidy. The mini bar was not kept stocked. All in all we would not come again, but I'm sure during peak season this hotel is a hive of activity. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
