A few tweaks needed

Feb 16th, 2020

I took two rooms for 3 nights in a King Size ocean view room this week at Costa Baja Resort. The rooms are really comfortable and well equipped and the ocean view pointing towards the sunset each night was well worth the cost. It was disappointing that the hotel supplied two 330ml (so very small) plastic bottles of water each day and that it cost US$2 for further bottles...the water from the taps is not drinkable so I would have expected a hotel of this standing to have offered free drinking water top ups or at least to have sold slightly more environmentally friendly larger quantity bottles. It was also disappointing that the free wifi advertised by the hotel was unavailable for 70% of the time and never reached the balcony with the ocean view...maybe this was to encourage us to pay extra for the faster wifi options but again, I’d expect a hotel of this standing to deliver what it promised and have a working wifi capable of reading emails or doing basic internet surfing whenever wanted. Steinbeck’s restaurant and Mosaic restaurant are both attached to the Resort and you can read my adverse review of Steinbeck’s elsewhere...the hotel is let down by being associated with a restaurant that has such a sense of entitlement and treats its customers so badly. Mosaics service was much better and the food is good but it is quite pricey for what you get and there are more reasonably priced and more authentic Mexican breakfasts available in La Paz...see my review of Dulce Romero on here. The shower in the room was and powerful...and the bed was really comfortable. I can’t fault the service from the reception and concierge staff...unfailingly helpful, considerate and welcoming. All in all, a very pleasant visit...that with a few simple tweaks could have been a first class visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable and pleasant stay

Feb 9th, 2020

Right at the marina, this hotel is quite good - the staff was competent and pleasant (the concierge was very helpful when we had to change our flight home). The rooms are on the small side, but quite adequate. Though it is some distance from the marina restaurants and the La Paz malecon (waterfront walkway), they have hotel transport that is quite easy to use. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

GORGEOUS hotel!!!

Jan 31st, 2020

I can’t believe how inexpensive this hotel is. I wish I could have stayed a lot longer. Very nice rooms with unique showers and bathroom setup. Good breakfasts and beautiful grounds. I would come here before ever going back to someplace like Cabo!! And so close to my home near San Francisco!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best hotel in La Paz

Jan 15th, 2020

I only stay here when visiting La Paz. It's beautiful, the staff is awesome, lots of facilities, lovely rooms, good restaurants on the hotel and in the nearby marina. It's north of the center a bit, so if you are looking for peace and quiet with a beautiful view of the bay, go for it. If you want to get into town, Uber is very inexpensive and so are taxis! No Room Service for Feverish Guest, Over priced Mediocre Food

Jan 6th, 2020

Upon check-in was informed room service would be available even through there was a NYE event happening later that evening. At 8:15, attempted to order and was told room service closed at 8pm. I was running a fever of 101 and had no way of getting any food. Miserable night. The pool was out of towels for guests. An order of Ceviche, 2 Beers, Shrimp Cocktail and Guacamole was close to $65 and just Meh. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
