I will return

May 3rd, 2020

Country Country is on a great area of 7 mile beach. It's a quaint hotel that is cozy and comfortable. My room was clean and comfortable, the bed was a little firm but that didn't interrupt my sleep. The added breakfast was a nice little start to the day. The breakfast hosts were nice and accommodating. Bar service was really slow. Dedrian and Monique were very helpful. If you want to get a local island feeling and want a laid back trip, this is the place to be. It was very quiet and laid back. I can't wait to return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never change a winning team!

Saw this resort many years ago, when orientating on a trip to Jamaica. This place definitely stood out in comparison with the others. What did set it aside was that it was much more colorful, what actually a Caribbean resort should be like, if you ask me. That trip never materialized back then, so when it became a reality years later I knew that I HAD to stay at Country Country! It wasn't featured on my usual booking platform, but that didn't deter me from looking for the one it was on. And my efforts paid off. There was practically nothing that was less than perfect: the room was exactly as pictured, cozy, clean and wide, the beach facilities top, the food always delicious, the staff was friendly and the service impeccable. I've already booked it for my next Jamaican trip over six months (since now I'm a Jamaica addict)! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We loved this hotel. The setting is so beautifully tropical and the staff so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are reputed to be the best in Negril. Lunch & dinner is also available. My husband and I will definitely return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My husband and I chose this small boutique hotel at the recommendation of our travel agent. Having stayed on the cliffs last year with limited access to the ocean for swimming (way too rough), we decided to try 7 mile beach this year in the hopes of having a better ocean experience and we were not disappointed! The resort is located directly on 7 mile beach and is tucked in a lush tropical garden. Bear in mind we both were under the impression that we would be ocean side; this was not the case. Honestly there are truly only 4 - 5 rooms that are and those are booked way in advance. We were located close to the main drag Rm (531 / 2nd floor) and the only ocean view to be had was if you laid on the bed. It is for this reason 'only' that I've given it a 4 out of 5. Point to note; if traffic is an issue for you then be very clear as to where you want to be located as it was quite noisy (I'm a country girl used to no noise short of peepers in the spring :)) - otherwise bring ear plugs which would do the trick. The windows have 'no' glass but rather blinds that you can shut; this keeps the bugs out for the most part but not the noise unfortunately and no light during the day. The beds are 'hard'.... BUT because I have a cranky back I travel with a portable air mattress that literally collapses into a small bag. Because of this it was not an issue but I did want to point it out just in case there are those of you that also suffer from a bad back; get an air mattress and you'll be fine. Another thing to note: Margaritaville is located 2 doors down and Friday night is party night until TWO AM!!! Unbelievably loud and I literally just got up and went out to our balcony and read until the wee hours as there was no way you were sleeping through that noise and I noticed several others also sitting outside just waiting for it to be over; once again I'll remind everyone to bring ear plugs if this is an issue. The staff were SUPER SUPER friendly and so nice to deal with. The gal that cleaned our room even put ice in our bucket EVERY day because she noticed we had our own full bar in our room Now that is a person who pays attention to detail. Especially because it's not always easy getting ice. you have to go to the bar and if no one is there you wait. The resort might want to consider just putting out a large cooler with ice so the guests can help themselves throughout the day. The food was pretty good too though our reasoning for 'not' doing the all inclusive thing is that we like to sample local food and wander a bit thus we did not eat every meal there. Best in the West is delicious as was Sweet Spice (cab ride away), plus several places on the beach (Treehouse, Charela, local pattie guy who served up hot patties). ONE complaint however; my husband had to get up at 6:30 AM to reserve lounge chairs w/ an umbrella on several occasions; this wasn't cool in my books. One of the other reasons we avoid All Inclusives is the mad dash one has to make to reserve a bloody lounger when you're on vacation. I didn't expect that we'd have to do that here too but we did. Always puzzles me why this happens. Multiply the # of rooms by the max guests and ensure that you 'always' have enough to go around? Didn't happen but my guy is an early riser so we learned our lesson on the first day. Yes you will get approached by the local vendors to buy their wares; it's how they make a living. Give a polite no thanks and keep on walking; they will respect you and for the most part will not hassle you further. If you want to snorkel I HIGHLY recommend Famous Vincent! The resort recommends Captain Mike but he gave us a lackluster trip. Drops you in the water to wander and that's it. Famous Vincent though is the guy! We used him last year and went back for a 2nd time. He gets IN THE WATER with you, and take you on a tour of the reefs literally diving down and gently picking things up for you to hold! He points out hidden lobsters, barracudas, etc. Amazing experience and honestly Captain Mike doesn't hold a candle to Vincent and they were the same price. You will not regret the experience. The beach was beautiful which we knew and the water just perfect in every way. Every morning we took a walk first thing enjoying the early morning sun and surf; doesn't get any better than that. In summary if you're 'not' concerned about being 'oceanfront' and you like the feel of a small resort then this is the place for you. We truly had a great time overall and while we did not book here for next year (husband wants ocean front) we would recommend this one to those folks who are looking for a small resort with friendly staff on one of those most beautiful beaches in the world.
