First time at Swept Away

Jun 19th, 2019

Arrived June the 3rd, got off to a rocky start at check in, staff seemed a little out of sorts, communication was not good at all. Complained to Gm, Karen. We had a Atrium Room, was very spacious and had a great balcony, but did not like having the shutters and screens, just a personal preference, The room itself just a little on the dark side. Overall the experience was very good. Besides the check-in the only other issue was at the Palms restaurant, for the most part the staff was not friendly as all the other restaurants. Patios and the grill next to it was excellent, Thank you Rochelle!!! had fun at the pool bar and the beach service was good, as well as the beach bar. Sea Grapes (where you get tacos) was excellent, the young ladies were great!! Water Sports group was very good, the Dive shop was excellent!! Anthony, Craig, and Copper helped me get my certification and they were fantastic, thank you to all at the dive shop for a tremendous experience!! The sports complex and juice bar was great, and the spa was also excellent, had a very good couples massage!! We would return and would split our time between Swept Away and CN (our home away form home). You cannot be on a better beach than the one at Swept Away, just a fantastic beach!!! We walked the beach every morning and had a great meeting people and coming into contact with some of the characters that roam the beach!! Never had an issue with anyone while walking down either side of Swept Away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Paradise

Jun 18th, 2019

First off, after reading some mixed reviews, I was a little apprehensive about booking here. But I AM SO GLAD I DID! I'm not sure what some people's expectations are, but everything in this resort was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Period. Rooms were clean and cleaned daily, along with turn down service each night. The food at each and every restaurant was delicious and fresh. The beach is STUNNING. Soft, white sand. PLENTY of shade trees. Service is wonderful. There is nothing at all I can say negative about my week at Couples Swept Away. There is no doubt that I'll be back, the sooner the better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome Trip To Jamaica

Jun 17th, 2019

My wife and I visited Jamaica for the first time in March of 2019. We were very lucky to choose Swept Away. We have visited the Caribbean several times. This resort we found new experiences. Our Premier Beachfront Suite as it says is right on the beach, step out of the room and your there, highly recommend this suite. This resort also offers so many activities during each day, water spots, cruise, snorkeling, several different classes it was great. We are planning to return February 2020 to Swept Away. Amazing beach to relax on

Jun 17th, 2019

This is our second time to Couples Swept Away and the second time was just as enjoyable as the first time. The first time was about four years ago. We stayed June 8th to the 14th. First I must say they have made improvements to the rooms. Not that the rooms where bad, but now they are very nice. They are clean, comfortable and have everything you would need for a tropical vacation stay. Seems to me they upgraded the flooring and some of the units. Our first night had been in the base rooms (GARDEN VERANDAH SUITE) but we upgraded to the ATRIUM SUITE I believe they call it. Both were wonderful. The verandah suites had TV's in them as the Atrium suite we had did not. But that did not matter to us. We were on the ground floor and it had a very nice walk out porch that was very spacious and included a hammock. The rooms were nice and I have no complaints. This resort is a smaller resort, which makes the service excellent. The food is very good and offers plenty of choices for anyone. We found the Palms buffets to be very good and preferred breakfast there over Patios Patio. The service at the Palms was much better and the buffet offered a wide choice versus the menu choices and small portions at Patios. They had Omelet and egg stations at the Palms. My wife usually had omelets and loved them. I had the eggs and other assorted items. The service is excellent at the Palms and the staff are so friendly. There are a few cats that like to roam the parameter so if you like cats, as we do, then fine to feed them a little. They are not pesky at all, they sit and wait or leave if you don't pay attention to them. We did see a few people swat them away for what reason I don't know. They simply will leave you alone if you don't feed them. And they don't sit there meowing till they get fed. So just leave them be or treat them to some breakfast. The lunches you have a few choices. Either eat at the Palms with many choices, eat at the Cabana grill if you like grilled food, however, you can get a salad there also. There is also a small grill by the pool by the Palms. There you can have Sweet Potato chips with some tasty dips, sushi and a number of other dishes. We found we ate there for a nice appetizer. There may be other choices for lunch but found these to be the most convenient. Diner, you can eat at the Palms which offers some menu nights along with other nights of a full buffet. We also ate at Feathers and Lemon Grass. I would recommend trying both during your stay. They are much different in food choices and both are very good. The beach is beautiful as always. And you can get a flag to order drinks. Just put up your flag and a person will come by and take your order. The locals selling goods were in check all the time with the beach guards. I found them not annoying at all. It was nicely done with respect and order. You may need to get up early to reserve the thatched hut areas to lay under. We simply didn't care and laid out wherever we wanted without worrying about getting those spots. Wasn't worth it in my opinion. Water sports are all free. You can water ski, kayak, windsurf, snorkel and scuba dive plus a few others. We saw people going out often. The dive boats are on a schedule and you must sign up for go diving. Same with the catamaran cruise. Just schedule the cruise and the dinners with the front desk. We also did a short shopping half day but took a taxi. The taxi cost us 20 dollars but worth it. The guy waited for us to be done, and picked us up and dropped us off at other shops. The shops are typical touristy things. I bought Cuban cigars (Be careful and study what is authentic and what is fake), and also bought some coffee (same warning about coffee too). Bottom line, great vacation. We are definitely going to return soon. For the price, this place offers great value. We have stayed at a number of locations in Jamaica and other islands. In Jamaica, we stayed at Sandals Ocho Rios, also at Sunset at the Palms. I would pick Couples Swept away for many of the reasons above. Ocho Rios was nice but the beach was too small. Sunset at the Palms, that place I don't understand how it gets such high reviews. To me, it should not. Couples Swept Away is the place to go for great staff, great value and just the right size for a resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful wedding !

Jun 15th, 2019

Just returned from exotic swept away to attend my nieces destination wedding and it was beautiful. The resort is well kept and very romantic. Food was delicious and the spa was very relaxing. The girls did our hair and makeup and they made us all look great. Really went out of the way for us all and the staff everywhere was warm and inviting. This was my second trip to swept away and it’s just as lovely as I had remembered from 1996, even better, couples created a tropical haven. I’ve been to many islands and the water and sand at swept away is by far the best beach I’ve ever been to. Gorgeous sunsets. They did a magnificent job for my nieces wedding on the beach and then reception. Beautiful flowers and the food was excellent. I’m so happy we all had the opportunity to be bright together at this location. Highly recommend. Thank you staff everyone for making it such a special place to spend vacation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
