Good Choice by the River

Jul 9th, 2019

I'm a Marriott loyalty member so I try to stay in Marriott properties when convenient. This hotel is in a great area -- right next to the Aquarium, IMAX, minor league ballpark, and a movie theater. Easy walking to other attractions like the riverfront parks, Hunter Museum, etc. Plenty of food choices, from the excellent Easy Bistro to Ben & Jerry's. Another big bonus is that the free shuttles to downtown/southside and northshore terminates in the garage behind the hotel, and there are rental bicycles available as well. The reason I choose this hotel when visiting Chattanooga is that there are rooms with views of the river (and aquarium), some with balconies. The Residence Inn across the street doesn't have the views, and the Springhill Suites nearby is usually a little more expensive and is further removed from center of the action. (Note that if you go to bed early, or need absolute quiet throughout the night, this may not be the hotel for you; there is some street noise.) The room is always clean and everything looks sharp. My only complaints are that the rooms don't have mini-fridges, and like most Courtyards, has the Bistro for ordering breakfast items rather than a buffet. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel - great location - wish they included more "extras"

Jul 6th, 2019

Stayed downtown with my wife over Independence Day break. Very nice hotel in the heart of downtown - easy to get to everything - Aquarium, free shuttle, IMAX, Looksouts' home stadium, etc. Wish Marriott included extras - like breakfast, parking, or even coffee in the lobby. I chose an "Aquarium view, corner room." Thought we would have a nice room to possibly view fireworks - ended up on the second floor so had a nice view of trees and the closed bar next door. :-( Be sure to work your magic to get a high-level room if that is what you want. Very Good Location

Jul 5th, 2019

Perfect place to stay for visits to the Aquarium or the Children’s Museum. It has a small pool and hot tub - no life jackets if you have small kids. Very few connecting rooms, which is surprising considering the family trade they likely get. The rooms are reasonably comfortable. There is only one night stand in the 2 queen bed room. Hard to set up for chargers, CPAPs, etc. Breakfast is available on property as is Starbucks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Super location

Jun 30th, 2019

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. The Chattanooga Lookouts stadium is two blocks away, and the Tennessee Aquarium is adjacent. Wonderful restaurants are nearby and you can get Starbucks coffee at the Bistro in the hotel. The ice machine on our floor wasn't working which was disappointing. The bed wasn't up to the Marriott standard in my opinion, and one of the front desk staff the next morning was not friendly but the check-in staff was excellent. The parking garage is very near and the IMAX theater is across the street. Lots to do to keep you busy for a weekend for sure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed My Stay

Jun 14th, 2019

This Courtyard was a very nice and clean hotel. Our room had a nice view of the Tennessee River & Aquarium. Our room had 2 queens and a sofa bed and both the room and bathroom were spacious, although the entrance to the room was very tight to move the luggage cart into and out of. We took advantage of the Starbucks cafe (not a true Starbucks store but contains some of the coffee products). Fair warning for those who are handicap drivers: the parking facility is not attached to the hotel. There are handicap spots on the second level of the parking facility however, they may not be available when there is a baseball game being played across the street. There is an elevator to take you down to the ground/street level; you then have to walk a bit on the street to the entrance to the hotel. Lastly, on a positive note, there is a location in front of the hotel to unload or load your car when checking in or out. This could be used as easy access for your handicap/wheelchair passengers. The front doors function automatically. We very much enjoyed our stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
