Clean, friendly and comfortable

Aug 9th, 2019

We were a bit surprised to find out that the hotel didn't offer a complimentary shuttle from/to the airport, but on checking none of the hotels in the area did. It would have been a nice touch. Anyway, the young lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. We had not planned on an overnight and arrived with only a few toiletries, but without toothbrushes. She gladly supplied them. Thank you. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom similar. We loved the efficient shower stall. The bed was a bit too soft for our taste. After checking in and getting settled we went to the bar area for a beer and a bite to eat. The menu was somewhat limited, but we were glad that there's was warm food on the menu. Service was casual and friendly. We left very early in the morning and would have missed breakfast, if there had been one. What caught my eye was the cozy television room. It would have been a great hang out had we been with friends. Our stay was short, but we felt very comfortable. The hotel was very quiet even at the ground level where we stayed. Great Stay

Jun 30th, 2019

This was a great overnight stay on the way to see family in Michigan. It was everything we expect and usually get from the Marriott brand. Parking was full so we had to park and the hotel next door but other than that it was fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice, but hidden fees!

May 21st, 2019

Newly renovated place. Very nicely done. A cool new way to offer breakfast (though you pay extra, it's worth it). Main pet-peeve is you have to pay for parking. That's crazy for the location and type of hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

hidden parking fees over charged credit card

Feb 24th, 2019

they charge $10.00 to park in their lot, its not like this is in a congested downtown are where parking is limited so was completely un called for and had we known would have considered other hotels This fee was never mentioned when we called, checked in or out. they also overcharged our credit card, there are plenty of other hotels to choose from near by. Room was clean but water pressure was low and toilets didnt flush well. all in all not what you would expect out of a Marriott, next time we visit Dayton we will find another hotel. First time giving a 2 to a Marriott location

Feb 23rd, 2019

When I travel, my hotel preference is always a Marriott facility. I do this because of the brand and the familiarity with what I would get mainly safe, comfortable, modern, clean and reasonably priced lodging. In all my years of staying at and evaluating Marriotts, this is my first 2 rating and really first below a 4 I believe. First off, the room was comfortable in that the bed was nice and everything was clean. But....the room had a smell about it as if it was a smoking room at one point. Didn’t complain as I was in that room sleeping for all of 6 hours however if my stay were to be longer, I would have asked for a room change. And frankly the place is dated. But here is my major beef with this location. I paid for the room fully in advance when I booked the room. Imagine my shock, surprise and total DISBELIEF when I got a bill this morning on my Amex for $10.01 for PARKING! Seriously Marriott.... you are going to charge for parking?!?!?! We’re not talking like this place is in NYC where parking is at a premium or even valet parking. Terrible. Still in shock and so not happy. I will offer you, my friends in travel, that there are TONS of other hotels on that same street right next to this Courtyard. I bet they don’t charge for parking. Will I return to this location on my next trip to the area? I bet you know the answer. Ugh! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
