Worst Marriott I have ever stayed at!!

Jan 20th, 2021

This was by far the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at with my family. We have been a meme we of Marriott rewards for years and never had an experience like this one. Upon checking in we went up to the room and it was filthy. Dust on all of the surfaces crumbs under the tv stand and empty bottles behind the dresser. During these times you would think the cleaning would be taken more seriously. We told the manager on duty about this that night and we were told the room would be cleaned the next day, we just needed to tell the front desk when we were leaving for the day. We did as we were asked and left the hotel at 10:00am, when we got back at 7:00pm our room was not cleaned. We now had to talk to them again and have them clean. Now we are once again inconvenienced by having to leave our room so they can clean. They sent a cleaning crew up and they cleaned. When they left, we checked it out and they did not clean under the tv and behind the dresser like we had asked. Then they sent someone else to do that. We had to make reservations to use the pool, so one night we go to use the pool, which was not the cleanest. Towels all over the floor and sand in the bottom of the pool. After swimming we return to our room to find out there is no hot water. We call front desk and they tell us that it was shut off and is being fixed. Not one person told us of this and they had plenty of opportunity to. The staff has to take you to the pool to let you in. I could go on about some other things too but it would take too long and this is already long enough. We were told that we were going to be fully refunded for our stay because of the inconveniences. All of the points we used were given back but the money we paid for one night was not. After several phone calls to the hotel asking were the refund was, the GM told us that she could only give us half back. Her excuse was that nothing was wrong the first night you were here!! Yes, nothing except the fact that the room wasn’t cleaned properly!!! Next time we visit Lake Placid we have to find another place to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The AC/heater is quite noisy

Jan 19th, 2021

The hotel overall is great. They cover all the COVID safety rules and I felt really safe and good there. It wasn't to crowded or at least you don't feel it was. The room was spacious and they got extra point for the fireplace. It was clean with nice set up. The hotel is quite expensive when compared to Courtyard standards but at the same time Lake Placid is not cheep so they met market average. Anyway, for pricy hotel I would expect great night sleep. Unfortunately I woke up few times at night each time heater was on. When it was on it was quite loud. Definitely heater/ac needs an update. Beside this overall great stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice but aging

Oct 2nd, 2020

If you are a Marriott fan this is your choice in the Lake Placid area. I wish it was closer to town but it is where it is. The staff is pleasant and the room comfortable but the hotel shows it’s age in lots of small ways. I was disappointed by some lose wires in the rooms which would be a risk to a child crawling on the floor. I let management know but housekeeping should have caught this. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My wife and I had a one night stay as this was the launch for a 2 week trip through New England. The hotel is a few blocks from the main downtown area but it is easy to access the majority of the shops and restaurants. It's well maintained and we felt the staff went out of their way to insure our safety. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
