Old, outdated, noisy and small rooms, poor management

This is one of the worst Courtyards that we ever stayed. The hotel shows its age. It is very old, worn-out and outdated. Rooms are very small. Even though there were very few guests due to Covid-19, the hotel was extremely noisy at night due to poor sound insulation. The air-conditioning only adds to the noise. I am Titanium Elite and the hotel staff showed zero appreciation of loyalty, which is typical of Marriott properties in the U.S.A. We would not stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not what it use to be

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times throughout the years. Before COVID, you got a clean, fresh, decent room at a great place. Since COVID, the rooms are stale, not as clean, the common areas are not as clean and the most recent disappointment is their “recent” policy that housekeeping does not clean the rooms during a stay until the seventh day of your stay. Meaning if you’re staying here for two nights, like I was during my last stay, your room will not be refreshed. Seriously?! I understand not cleaning the rooms while occupied but not cleaning them at all?! I will NEVER stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not a Good Choice in Hot Weather

We have stayed in this property many times when visiting our grandchildren. It is a very convenient location to Brighton. Most of our visits have been in the cooler months, and our stays have always been pleasant. This time we came July 10 through 12. The temperature was mostly in the high 80's and low 90's. When we arrived in the afternoon, our room (#301) was 86 degrees and the air conditioner was not running. We turned it on and set it for 74 degrees. After unpacking, we left for the evening, and returned around 10:00pm. When we entered the room, the air conditioner was not running and the temperature was 86 degrees again. Again, I turned on the air conditioner and set it for 72 degrees. We went to bed with it running and the temperature down to 83 degrees. Needless to say, we were not comfortable. The air conditioner continued to run until around 4:00 am when the temperature finally reached 72 and it shut off. The next day, we left our room at 8:00 am to go out for breakfast and to run some errands. When we returned 2 hours later, the air conditioner was off again and the room temperature was up to 76 degrees. At this point I went to the front desk where I was told that the system is set up to shut off when no one is in the room. I asked if there was any way to bypass the programming so the room would not get so hot as to be uncomfortable. I was told there is no way to do that. When I explained that it literally took hours for the air conditioning unit to cool the room down, I was told to try setting the thermostat as low as possible before leaving for the day. That didn't work. When we got back that night it was 78 in our room. A late day rain storm helped to keep the room temp lower. It still took a couple of hours for the air conditioner to cool the room down to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Based on this experience, we will look for a better hotel when visiting in the summer months. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Standard Courtyard in good location

I chose this hotel based on its convenient location for my travels. It is an older Courtyard but updated inside. The lobby is stylish and has different seating areas. My room was comfortable and had a mini fridge. The balcony is too skinny for furniture, but I enjoyed having the sliding doors open and getting some fresh air into the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not good for business travel

The layout of this hotel is in a U shape, and if you happen to get on the wrong side of the U and want to go work out - well you better hope it's 7am because that's when the pool or "cut-through" to the gym opens up. Mind you keycard access is there, it's just not active until 7am. Otherwise you have to go all the way around this ridiculous hotel. The staff will not open that pool door any earlier. Also the key cards often demagnetize themselves, so by the time I got around the U to get into the gym, my key card didn't work. I spent the 20 minutes I had before having to get ready for work, trying to get to the gym. The hotel is old, which was forgivable but the customer service also leaves a lot to be desired. I had an instance where I forgot to waive housekeeping the night before and instead told them at 7:30am that I didn't want housekeeping. They told me it was too late to get the points for waiving housekeeping. I don't recommend staying here, there's another Marriott branded property (Residence Inn) just 8 minutes down the road which is newer, with nicer staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
