I wanted to like this property, but

Aug 11th, 2019

This property is in a very nice setting, convenient to the parks and areas of interest. We stayed at this Courtyard after another Marriott property closed their pool and we were staying with grandkids whose prime objective was to swim while we relaxed. On our first day, the pool was closed for several hours, and the signs for the reason why were taped to doors that we could not get to. The wifi was terrible, and although premium is offered, it did not connect because the registration form would not accept my name and room number. There was virtually no cell coverage in the hotel area. The TV system was out constantly, and unlike other Courtyards I stayed at recently, there was no internet TV option. But the most significant disruption was loud and vulgar drunken parties outside in the public seating area that went on until 3:00 am. The hotel staff seemed oblivious to the problem, and our kids were subjected to the F*** word constantly throughout the night. I would not stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Typical 3 star hotel

Aug 8th, 2019

Don’t let the customer review rating and open concept lobby mislead you - this is a 3 star hotel. All but one of the team members were friendly. Sound proofing isn’t great. One towel bar (for 3 guests) and no vent fan in the bath. King bed and pillows were comfy, pull out sofa had the standard 2 inch prison cot mattress. Sheets were clean, but there were some rogue Cheerios left behind under the bed skirt from previous guests. The website pictures make the rooms, gym and pool look much larger than they really are. It’s listed as ”kid friendly”, but I have typical kids, so the Bistro menu’s “lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes” and most other offerings were out of our non-hipster foodie range. There are lots of places to eat within an easy 15 minute drive though. Overall, we got what should be expected from a 3 star. If we return to Williamsburg, we’d try another hotel for sure. Prime spot to stay in the Historic Triangle

Aug 8th, 2019

Can't beat the location. Easy access from the Courtyard to I-64, Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and the Colonial Parkway. Clean, modern hotel with a nice pool where the kids can blow off steam after a day at the area attractions. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Playing Adult Kid

Jul 28th, 2019

Our stay was 11-12 July 2019. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Your phone maps GPS system will tell you this hotel is on the left side but it is actually on your right side after you turn onto the road. The property is kept up, there is plenty of parking, it is in a safe area and it is a quiet area. The inside is just as nice and clean. The lobby is modern and the staff are just a pleasure to work with and very helpful. The pool area connects to the indoor and outdoor pool which all you have to do is swim to the other side. I thought that was cool. Our room and the floor we were on was clean and kept up. The housekeeping guy on our floor was seriously detailed with his cleaning. Very impressive – I say this because I had walked into a room he was cleaning and he was in the bathroom really scrubbing the tub out. I checked out vents and they were cleaned. Since the first floor was the main floor to everything, you can tell this is a high traffic floor. Not that they don’t clean but people spill and track everything in on this floor. The reason I choose this hotel is because of the “no pets” rule because hotels don’t realize that some people are afraid of animals and others have allergies to them. So even putting them on different floors does not work for me and people do not always pick up the gifts they provide, plus the smell of urine does affect allergy suffers. So, thanks to this hotel for not having pets. The plus side is this hotel is right down the street from Busch Gardens which we attended on 12 July. I was able to check in early which was a nice plus and although there was no free breakfast, we choose the Colonial Pancake House to eat and they cook a nice breakfast. But you do have other places around to grab breakfast is you don’t want to pay for it at their nice breakfast setup area. Yes, I would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good Hotel close to Bushgarden

Jul 27th, 2019

Very close to Bushgarden and Water country USA. The check in was ok, just one thing they don't honor friends & family rates if you dont have the referral page. The pool is small. The wait time to get your breakfast is long but the food is good. Beds are comfortable. Overall it's a good place near everything. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
